The last week has been the most fulfilling for Bollywood music lovers, with chartbusting hits Twist from Love Aaj Kal and Dhan Te Nan from Kaminey ruling the roost and vying for the top slot.Singer-composer Vishal says, “I’m the biggest Vishal Bhardwaj fan, no two ways about it. His Dhan te nan is awesome. I can’t stop listening to it. I wish I had composed it.”Pritam who composed music for Love Aaj Kal is also escatic, says, “Never before have two dance numbers been so closely competitive in the charts. The fact that both Vishal’s Dhan te nan and my Twist have a old-fashioned sub-layer just goes to prove, retro is back.”While Pritam’s Twist is inspired by old Nagin song, Dhan Te Nan’s catchline is quite similiar to the opening sequence of Laxmikant-Pyarelal’s Hai Hai Yeh Majboori.

There're humungous expectations from LOVE AAJ KAL, but Imtiaz Ali isn't nervous. "People are bound to compare LOVE AAJ KAL with JAB WE MET, but that's something I'm not worried about. Neither am I nervous. And nor am I getting any sleepless nights. I guess, it's an emotional defect, " Imtiaz chuckles.LOVE AAJ KAL marks the debut of Saif Ali Khan as a producer (he's co-producing the film with Dinesh Vijan). "When Saif first told me he was keen to produce the film, I was surprised.I asked him the reasons for turning producer and I was convinced when he spelt them out. He wants to make movies that he believes in and our thoughts matched completely, " Imtiaz reveals, "But Saif also clarified that he'd concentrate on acting only, while Dinesh would look after the day-to-day production."Since the film is produced by Saif himself, one expected Kareena Kapoor to star in the film, but it's Deepika Padukone this time. "I wouldn't be justifying her (Kareena) talent if I didn't give her the same importance as in JAB WE MET.Deepika was always my first choice and I must add, she has enacted her part with amazing understanding. I am sure, people will be pleasantly surprised, " Imtiaz divulges.Not many are aware that Imtiaz was keen on calling the film AAJ KAL, since the film talks of kal (Rishi Kapoor) and aaj (Saif). "Since the film is primarily a love story, we decided to add 'Love' before 'Aaj Kal'. That explains the title, " Imtiaz adds.So what's his next move? "I haven't finalized a script yet, but I have one film with Shree Ashtavinayak and another with Sajid Nadiadwala, " he reveals. .

But she doesn’t want to be called ‘wise’ – she’s just 23, after all, she protests!So ‘23 and unwise’ is cool with her, is it? With a flash of her famous dimple, the actress, who’s going to be in Delhi soon, says, “Not unwise also. I like the fact that I’m a little more mature than the average 23-year-old. As long as I don’t sound like a 50-year-old, it’s fine.”So what is her advice for Saina, who recently clinched a win over the higher-ranked Chinese player Lin Wang in Jakarta? Deepika, who’s played badminton herself, thanks to Prakash Padukone, her father, says, “I watched that game. Saina played brilliantly. I could see the exhaustion on that other girl’s face. Even Saina was tired, but I guess she was a little better than the other girl and she truly deserves it. My father has devoted his life to badminton and Saina’s achievement is his achievement too. My only advice to Saina is not to lose her head over endorsements, film offers and all the media attention. She should remember that all that’s coming to her because of what she is, and she is, first and foremost, a good badminton player,” she says.She repeats that – that she doesn’t want Saina to get carried away. Does she think that that is the trend with young sports personalities? “Some of them, yes. I won’t take names. But there are people who do get swayed by the sudden overnight attention and somewhere, they forget what their main purpose in life is. Sometimes the money is great, but that should not sway you. I’m doing my endorsements because of what I primarily do, which is films,” she adds. .
Love Aaj Kal is the dream project of Saif Ali Khan, being his home production film.We heard they had lots of fun during the shoot but there were few incidents which created a bit panic situation.Our sources reveal that, “The film had almost come to an end but suddenly an incident took place where we have to re shoot 4-5 scenes as the camera broke down.”“The crew was surprised when they learnt that suddenly the sequences that they have shot with the actors have been vanished. They got a new camera of worth Rs. 5 lakhs and had to shot all over again. It was one of the most important sequences of the flick, ” adds the source.Talking about the Jhatka, our khabroo reveals that, “While shooting for a melody number with Saif, Deepika had a great fall from the stage. Telugu cinema history’s biggest super hit Arundhati is all set to be made into Hindi now by its original makers.Recently news was out that the makers had approached Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi actress Anushka Sharma but the deal couldn’t get through since she was still tied up under her mentors Yash Raj three film contract. Now the makers, it is learnt have approached Deepika Padukone for the same role.Sources reveal, “After Anushka Sharma another name being considered was the name of the original heroine from the Telugu blockbuster hit whose name is also Anushka.But then considering the fact that she is still an unknown face in Bollywood they decided to opt for a more popular young actress in Bollywood who doesn’t have a set image and the Om Shanti Om girl’s name cropped up. The discussions are on but nothing has been finalized as of yet though.”But another industry insider reveals, “With Sonu Sood more or less finalized in the most powerful male character’s role in the film it seems less likely that Deepika would agree to be a part of the film.Considering the fact that he is still not a Bollywood A list star, Deepika might have her apprehensions in working in such a project.While the makers chose to remain adamant on their choice of Sonu Sood (he also played the main villain in the Telugu original) it won’t be easy for them to find a big heroine for their ambitious project.”We just hope better sense prevails for Deepika and she agrees to do the film.
