I didn't fly to Mumbai to console Dhoni: Girlfriend

Tamil actress Lakshmi Rai, who has been romantically linked with M.S. Dhoni, rubbishes reports that she flew down to Mumbai from here to console the Indian cricket skipper after the Indian team was ousted from the T20 World Cup.A Tamil daily had published the report."Though I was deeply upset by India's exit from the T20 World Cup, I didn't break down into tears as reported. Neither did I fly to Mumbai to meet Dhoni to talk to him and console him... it's nothing but media's figment of imagination. I just sent a consoling message to Dhoni and that's all, " said the actress."Actually, I'm too busy to have time for such things. Nowadays, I make it a point to even take part in the story discussion of films in which I'm working. So, this keeps me very busy, " added the actress who featured in Tamil films like "Azhagiya Aabathu" and "Velli Thirai".

Both Katrina, Kareena have sex y bodies: Akshay

Akshay Kumar has worked with both Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in several films, but can't decide who is better. The action king says both are "wonderful actresses" and have "sexy bodies"."Both Kareena and Katrina are really good but who is the better among them depends on their roles in the films. Otherwise, both of them have sexy bodies and are absolutely wonderful actresses, " said Akshay when asked to choose his favourite of the two.Akshay has done four films with Katrina including "Namastey London" and "Singh Is Kinng", while he has worked with Kareena in five that include hits "Ajnabee" and "Aitraaz". The two are set to scorch the screen once again in their upcoming action-cum-romantic drama "Kambakkht Ishq", which releases Friday."In 'Kambakkht Ishq', Kareena has performed very well. Her character required to answer back at me and be strong and she has portrayed it in a powerful, yet lovable way. On the other hand, even Katrina was really good in 'Namastey London'. So it's not really about my choice... it all depends on their roles, " the actor told over phone from Puerto Rico in the US, where he is on a holiday.Akshay, who has spent more than 18 years in the Hindi film industry, says acting with a new league of actresses is a learning experience."As a senior actor, I don't always have to give out tips to the younger ones. In fact, I feel I can learn a lot from the younger generation because they have new ways of acting and a different approach to work."I cannot particularly point out what I have learnt from them (Kareena and Katrina) yet, but yes, working with them was a learning experience, " said the actor, who has also teamed up with Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Ayesha Takia.Akshay plays a Hollywood stuntman in "Kambakkht Ishq", which also boasts of big Hollywood names like Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh - working with whom has been a "dream come true" for the actor. In the film, Akshay has done what he is best at - action and daredevilry - something that had taken a backseat in his career for a while."I decided to stop doing stunts till Aarav (son) turns at least six. Now I'm back at it again. In 'Blue', which is an action thriller, I have done some death-defying stunts like the one where I had to swim 150 feet underwater with 30-40 sharks. But I will talk about it sometime later, " he said.At the moment, the 41-year-old actor is pinning hopes on Sajid Nadiadwala's "Kambakkht Ishq" to bail him out after his much-publicised films "Chandni Chowk To China" and "8X10 Tasveer" fizzled out at the box office."I'm expecting great response for this film. Though I had worked very hard in 'Chandni Chowk...', the response didn't turn out to be as expected. Some people and critics didn't like it and '8X10 Tasveer' was more like an art film, which has a niche market in India. 'Kambakkht Ishq' is a complete entertainer and I hope the audience appreciates it, " he said.Apart from "Kambakkht Ishq", Akshay will also be seen in "Blue", "De Dana Dan" and "Action Replay". .

Aishwarya Rai: Abhishek and I are brutally frank with each other

Verve's undisputed power cover girl, India's highest paid, most in-demand actor; international face of the country; recipient of a myriad film awards and the big daddy of them all, a Padma Shri, reminds me of a little girl on a Ferris wheel - spinning ever upwards, almost out of control in the frenzy of her life.Today, she is closeted in her vanity van at N. D. Studio in Karjat with make-up artist, Ojas. She is busy putting on a face, which to me seems so unnecessary!Earlier, fresh countenanced, tired-eyed but oh so beautiful, she had made flash decisions on gowns (no saris); colours (out with that dull mauve) and silhouettes. The world's most beautiful woman (so says Julia Roberts!) standing there in black tights and silver-and-white tee, could have slipped into anything and looked like a million bucks. She is small, slim and graveeyed and I remember reading that these, her most outstanding feature, have been donated already to science. She was not in the best of moods, struggling to control diva- esque tendencies - probably triggered by yet another unnecessary controversy, this time at Cannes, hanging over her head like a cloud of bad hair.Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is ready to shoot but only on her own terms. And, she has too much on her mind as she comes to chat."You just know when you are home!"Abhishek and I have been close throughout our careers. Within a year of our being together, he proposed to me and it was an immediate yes.In Toronto, we had the premiere of Guru and there was a screening and a press interaction in New York and we were supposed to take the flight back, when he proposed. And he said he had a reason for that, he said he used to be in New York at that very spot thinking about the possibility of us being together. It was not about the frills but about the personal emotion deep within.""My marriage was a glorious, fabulous, wonderful, superlative personal experience."And having said that, the circumstances were unimaginable. I never thought I would get married in the middle of a film. You imagine you would complete your work, indulge yourself. In movies, they show this entire preparation time and the irony was that I was doing that in Jodhaa Akbar.Ashu (director Ashutosh Gowariker) would keep saying that your craft, your kala, is preparing you for this wonderful real life moment. So, I was the bride in my work and its wonderful how my life has made me smile so many times and made me wonder at incidents where something is going on in your life and there is an interesting parallel on your work front."Abhishek and I have the ability to keep things real."Which is great and keeps our relationship what it is - an incredible friendship...we are brutally frank with each other, we are brutally frank about our life, we both have an incredible sense of humour and we have the ability to laugh with each other, at ourselves and with life and I think that is special."It starts with, I as an actor should want to do what I am doing, otherwise I will be cheating my work."
If I am not comfortable doing what I am doing, the camera picks up every little thing, you cannot lie to the camera.I have been fairly radical throughout my career in terms of trying to break out of the predictable journey of a leading lady. Early on, I took up mature roles and started working in regional cinema. It was recognized that I had a dancing prowess and I could have been the next dancing superstar but I chose subjects where the directors wanted to create a slightly different character.
"The truth is, I did not go seeking to make an inroad into Hollywood or move there."
The entire international interest in me started when Devdas went to Cannes. Coincidentally, Gurinder (Chadha) was meeting me with two script ideas at the same time. So naturally she became my first choice. It was suddenly perceived that Aishwarya has made this decision to go to Hollywood.I said that I am open to cinema, just as I was when I did Iruvar, Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. When I joined films finally, it was after Miss World and films were already coming my way.I have virtually been invited here and to date scripts come my way and by the grace of God, I am spoilt for choice. That is the same way I choose my English films.I am sure people have wondered why I have said no to biggies like Will Smith, Michael Douglas, Rush Hour 3 or Troy. But, I had committed my time to Indian films."A day off is totally husband time and family time."When we were in Chennai shooting for Guru, we went with Abhishek's friends from college time, to the theatre and we watched movies back to back, just that one evening we went from one theatre to the next in this multiplex
Abhishek and I love music and I have an incredibly full iPod now thanks to him. I have never been pseudo enough to say I like only English music and popular tracks of the time but also old classics and Hindi music of earlier times.

We also genuinely love watching movies. But most of all, we just love spending time together. Both of us are very talkative and we have to give each other time to speak before piping in."Professionally what was wonderful was being bestowed with the Padma Shri."People from the fraternity said you are the youngest from the industry to have received it thus far. I owe it to my parents and I devote it to them. It was very special when my in-laws said we welcome the fifth Padma Shri into the family. And I am blessed with the best husband in the world because it reflects on his strength that he can stand by his woman on a public platform at every given opportunity and applaud her. With a tight film schedule ahead, the actor will face the year with the cylinders that drive her, on full blast. While her achievements have been large, one wonders, what next? With fresh faces bombarding the movie going public's sensibility; will Aishwarya now appeal to a more mature audience? Not an older audience minds you, just a more mature one.... While the choices she makes today may be more critical than ever before, destiny's child is not worrying any. .

Salman can't see Katrina getting intimate with other heroes!

Even as Bipasha Basu rushed back from Goa to Mumbai to watch her boyfriend John Abraham’s career-defining performance in New York, the film’s leading lady Katrina Kaif whose performance has been bathed in praise is yet to convince her companion to watch what the world is raving about.Yes, believe it or not, Salman has not watched New York as yet. Katrina hasn’t been able to convince him to do so. He won’t watch it now, he won’t watch later. Period.Says a close friend of Katrina, “It really really puzzles and hurts her as to why Salman chooses to ignore all her films. It isn’t as if he doesn’t watch any films. He does. But when it comes to Katrina he suffers from a mental blockade.”Apparently Salman doesn’t like the thought of watching his girlfriend share physical proximity with any of his co-stars. In fact, according to close friends even when she wears the slightest of revealing clothes in his presence Salman asks her to change.Ironically while Salman has probably never seen any of Katrina’s films, Katrina makes it a point to watch all of his films.Says the friend, “She doesn’t miss any of Salman’s films. Whether it’s a premiere or just a regular screening Katrina is there to support anything that Salman does.”Apparently Katrina is trying hard to convince Salman to watch New York. But with the John Abraham factor looming large over New York the chances of getting her man to share her moment of glory seem rather dim. .

Aishwarya should have got the award,:Jaya Bachchan

Jaya Bachchan hasn't seen Priyanka Chopra's work in Fashion but feels her daughter in law, Aishwarya Rai, deserved the best actress award for her performance in Jodhaa Akbar! After stirring a hornet's nest with her attempts at humor with an ill-advised dig at Raj Thackerey's MNS, Jaya Bachchan is now assaulting our sensibilities! The fair minded lady, who hasn't heard the term - conflict of interest – recently said:"For all I know she must be really good in Fashion. I have not seen it. But I've seen Priyanka's work in Dostana and liked it. She's undoubtedly a good actress," Jaya told."I don't have any objection to her winning the award at IIFA. But I wonder why Aishwarya's fine performance was ignored. I think she and the Jodhaa Akbar cinematographer Kiran Deohans richly deserved recognition for their work," she added.Jaya isn't satisfied with her mouthpiece Ashutosh Gowariker's shocking comments on stage at the 10th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards in Macau, when he came to collect Best Director award for Jodhaa Akbar from Jaya, Abhishek and Aishwarya."Priyanka, you are a very hardworking actress but I was just discussing with Jayaji why Aishwarya did not get the Best Actress award," said Gowariker."First of all it is being presumed that Ashutosh unnecessarily mentioned my name regarding Aishwarya's omission from the awards. The fact is, I suggested he bring up the question on stage at IIFA. We were discussing why Aishwarya has not been given any award for Jodhaa Akbar and I suggested Ashutosh bring up the matter. So when he mentioned my name, he wasn't doing anything wrong," she said. .

Katrina Kaif Never went to College!!!!

When she speaks about contentment in life and her urge to learn more, it’s hard to believe that the top female celeb of the country, Katrina Kaif , has never been to college. But life itself is a better teacher for the actress whose film New York released on Friday. In the film, Katrina plays Maya, who is a college-going girl with a bohemian attitude. She loves her college like any teenager. For Katrina, who started earning at a very young age of 14, and never got the chance to study further because of her modeling assignments, going to a college remained a distant dream. But by doing ‘New York’ she has become familiar with the college life. For the movie, Katrina’s look is kept simple. She is looking younger in comparison to her earlier movies. The actress tells to a daily, “It’s really nice to play your age some times”. ‘New York’ is Katrina’s first Yashraj flick. She is thankful to director Kabir Khan and producer Aditya Chopra for trusting her and giving her the role of Maya. And Maya is someone with whom Katrina can completely relate to.It was also fun for the lady to work with Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham . Katrina admits being the butt of jokes by her co-stars on the sets of the film but shares a great rapport with them. While getting candid in an interview with the daily, Katrina even commented on how different it was for her to shoot ‘New York’, as till now she has done mainly light-hearted comedies, which demanded nothing much from her..

Adnan Sami: I was working with Michael & Janet

First his father, and now fellow-musician Michael Jackson is gone in less than a week..This hasn't been a good time for Adnan Sami."I was working on an album with Janet and Michael Jackson. I'm producing and composing the album. But now I wonder what happens to it!" wonders Adnan.Describing Michael whom Adnan met a number of times for the album as a childlike genius, Adnan says, "His life was troubled. But his music was his solace. Artistes who suffer always seek an escape route in their art. Ask me, I should know"When Adnan first received a phone call from Michael and the Jackson brothers they discussed Adnan's music in detail. "The Jacksons knew every detail about my songs. They had studied my music in detail. I listened quietly to them talk about my music. These were the same guys whose music I grew up."How did it happen? "Michael's brother Jermaine's wife Halima is from Afghanistan. For some time she lived in Chandigarh. She got acquainted with my music while in India and she took my music to LA and introduced her husband to it. And then Jermaine introduced Michael and Janet to my music."Adnan had three meetings with the the Jacksons in Los Angeles. "It was progressing slowly. They like to work at their own pace. No hurry. The album is like Motown-music-meets-world-music-meets-Indian -music. I've brought the Sarangi and the Tabla-Dholak into their music."It 's Adnan's first English-language album, and being produced by the Jacksons.Adnan is also singing one song in the album.Speaking of the Jacksons Adnan says, "They're very humble people. Always attentive to what I say, always open to innovations and suggestions. They recognized a component in my musical style, and that is this. I really like strong base lines in my songs. What they don't know is, that's something I learnt from the music of the Jacksons."This is the first full-fledged collaboration between an Asian musician and a major American musical icon."I can't believe I'm actually working with the Jacksons. Without Michael it won't be the same. We've completed four songs…I'm really enjoying this. I realize I enjoy playback singing. But the independent albums are where I'm totally able to express myself." .

Akshay Kumar's message to Kambakht Critics

Akshay Kumar has never been Critics' favourite actor. So this time Khiladi Kumar ahs decided to connect with them as the influence the decision of an average moviegoer. In his latest blog he writes:Now that the mutliplex strike is over, I am a relieved man. The eight weeks between April 9 and June 5, 2009 were one of the darkest phases for the Indian film industry. We needed to address serious issues with the multiplexes; however, we also lost out precious revenue in this period. The movies are back but our worries as the film fraternity are far from over. Have you realised what the scenario will be in the next few months of 2009? Movies, big and small, will be jostling for space at the box office. I don’t know how many of these will get their rightful due because of the mad rush. There is a difference between a buffet and an a-la-carte meal. A buffet is not necessarily the best way to enjoy a meal. Likewise, a rush of movies at the theatres from now on could be like a buffet with the audience not being able to savour their meal. There are also two other issues that I must write about in the context of movies. One is about piracy; we lose on an average at least 35 per cent of our box office revenues to piracy. My sincere plea to movie-watchers in India and overseas is please watch our movies in theatres. Don’t watch pirated DVDs.My second request, please be clear about this — it’s a request, is to the critics. Hello, all critics — would you guys kindly consider bringing out your reviews after the first weekend? Okay, if that is too late, then, bring it out on a Saturday. Give us a clear Thursday / Friday to showcase our movies..

Kareena Kapoor & Aamir's New look in 3 Idiots

Kareena Kapoor may have a big release round the corner (Kambakkht Ishq) but that hasn't deterred Bollywood's IT girl from finishing off her other pending assignments.Kareena was busy shooting most of last week with Aamir Khan for Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots. The actors finished a major shooting schedule first in the cold climate of Laakh and then even shot some vital portions in Delhi. What one can't miss noticing in theses images floating on the internet is Bebo's simple, bespectacled look, a complete opposite from her glamorous avatar in Kambakkht Ishq. She is also seen wearing a simple salwar kameez rather than any western outfit which she is more often seen in.As for Aamir, the actor seems to be in a light relaxed mood, sporting a light pink tee with blue jeans.3 Idiots is based on Chetan Bhagat's much acclaimed novel '5 Point Someone' and also stars Sharman Joshi, R Madhavan, Mona Singh and Boman Irani in lead roles.

Akshay Kumar:Kambakkht Ishq is an illogical film

Akshay Kumar believes in entertaining audiences even if his films come with an 'illogical' tag. He admits that his forthcoming "Kambakkht Ishq" belongs to the same category."I don't want to get into logical films... I am happy doing films where one can keep discussions around logic at home, " Akshay Kumar told on phone from the US where he is currently on holiday."I want people to come with their parents and children, munch popcorn while the movie plays, get entertained, have some nice lunch or dinner after the show ends and then go back home happy and smiling, " he added."See, for so many Hollywood or Bollywood films out there, you don't ask around whether a particular scene or happening is possible or not. Look at James Bond movies - now don't we see so many illogical things out there? But we are fine and rightly so because these films eventually entertain. You don't search for logic there and in the same way, 'Kambakkht Ishq' too is an illogical film", said Akshay.Releasing July 3, the film, also starring Kareen Kapoor, was extensively shot in in Hollywood.
"And I am extremely lucky to have found this opportunity for myself. You get to see and do so many big things in just one film. Where else would you otherwise get a chance to shoot in Kodak theatre?"You set your film in nothing less than Universal Studios, then you do stunts along with Brandon Routh (better known as Superman), you romance with Denise Richards and Kareena Kapoor and then the ultimate pleasure is to share screen space with Ramboji (Sylvester Stallone), " he said. For Akshay, working in a film like "Kambakkht Ishq" was akin to a dream coming true."Frankly, the film was not just a journey but a roller coaster ride. There are so many big and known names who are a part of the film. Moreover, what's even better is that each of the aforementioned names are essential part of the film. It's not that they have been roped in just for the sake of it. There is no gimmickry involved and you will realise that once you see the film, " said the actor.Commenting on the film's budget, he said the makers of "Kambakkht Ishq" haven't gone overboard."The film's budget is decent in fact, not that huge as some may believe, It's a reasonable budget around Rs.45-50 crore and is in the similar range as 'Chandni Chowk To China' or a 'Singh Is Kinng'. We haven't gone overboard at all."He also said that in spite of so much being packed in this Sabbir Khan directed film, the makers have kept the film's length in check."Don't worry, we won't take much of your time", joked Akshay, "The film boasts of some power packed entertainment in those 2 hours and 15 minutes. I guess that is quite reasonable for a film of this scale." .

Bollywood Celebrities Reacts On Michael Jackson's Death

Asin: “Michael Jackson is a legend. I absolutely love his music and dance. His music defined a generation, just like Elvis Presley and the Beatles before him. ‘Heal The World’ is my favourite Michael Jackson track. It left an indelible imprint on my mind. This is is a big loss to all us MJ fans. I already miss him.

Shilpa Shetty: “I still can’t believe Michael Jackson is gone! When my Dad told me I thought he was joking. I’ve always been a huge fan of Michael. I’m shattered. I had booked tickets to watch his show at 02 in London. They got cancelled and re-scheduled. To call him an icon would be an understatement. I still can’t believe it!

Urmila Matondkar: “There have been many many famous entertainers and there will be others. But none like Michael Jackson. He’s truly an inspiration to entertainers in every part of the world. His singing and dancing were beyond any language, culture caste or religion. No wonder he had fans in the biggest metros and remotest villages.

Mithun Chakraborty: “He can never go. He will always be with us. He was the greatest ever. The God of dancing. Immortal

Subhash Ghai: “Michael Jackson was a symbol of fire, passion and energy. He changed the way civilization looked at popular entertainment. The youth all over including India followed him.Anu Malik: “Michael Jackson the king of pop, the king of music, the king of kings was insulted and humiliated in his lifetime. They called him wacko jacko. They didn’t know, such a legend would never return to our world. The same people want to sing his praises now.MJ was a gentle soul, a remarkable musician, a true rock star. I want to remember him by his music. I am heartbroken by his death. And I’m amused how everyone is tripping over to praise this great soul. Maybe the soul of this great achiever rest in ever-lasting peace.

Amrita Rao: “I’m a huge Michael Jackson fan. This news is devastating. He had the best body language ever. In ‘Thriller’ just his expressions and selfconfidence make him look like the most handsome man on earth. The world will miss him. And for many of us, it’s like losing a childhood friend.”

Anushka Sharma: “Oh my God! I’m utterly shocked. Michael Jackson’s ‘Black Or White’ was one of the few western pop tunes I was introduced to in my early teens. We’ve lost a musical genius and a splendid performer. His music will live forever. He was undoubtedly a genius.

Pritam Chakraborty: “It was so hard to believe! The first news flash this morning had a question mark. Is MJ dead? I hope he wasn’t. But he was. It’s one of the saddest days in world music. May his soul rest in peace. MJ is immortal. His legacy will linger luminously for lifetimes.

Tusshar Kapoor: “It’s very depressing to hear about Michael Jackson’s death. I spent my childhood listening to his songs and watching his videos. He was my ultimate pop icon. His death makes me realize the hard uncertainties of life.

Dino Morea: “It’s awful. I’ve been glued to CNN since morning. I’ve watched just about every video of his, heard and danced to every song. Heck, I even have scratches of his unreleased tracks!

He was truly the legend, just about the greatest performer to date. I used to try to dance like him at every school and college party. I don’t think anyone can match Michael’s steps or stage presence.

I don’t think there was any part of the globe that Michael didn’t reach with his music. I was to go for his concert in the UK next month.

Aadesh Shrivastav: “His demise has left a void in the music industry that can never be filled. His music and dancing took stardom to another level. He was an incomparable performer.

Minissha Lamba: “It’s devastating to know Michael Jackson is no more. He revolutionized pop music. It was sad to see someone who gave joy to millions around the world with his songs, go through so much in the last decade of his life. Destiny makes you the King, and then decides to snatch away your happiness.

Sammir Dattani: “Shit, Michael Jackson gone! I was supposed to go for his concert which coincided with my sister’s graduation in London. Damn, now I’ll never see get to see the original moonwalker. I’ll just made do with Darsheel in Tare Zameen Par.

Amrita Arora: “I’m hugely shocked and saddened. We’ve lost the world’s biggest and most beloved entertainer. Michael is dead. But his music will live forever.

Malaika Arora: “I’m in total shock. For me MJ is the greatest, a true legend. The King will live on through his music.

Himesh Reshammiya: “He was a legend and an inspiration for everyone in music. I think his popularity was unmatched. I truly pray for his soul to rest in peace.” .

Farah Khan:I touched Michael Jackson

"I officially had no training in dance and whatever I learnt was from watching Michael Jackson by watching his videos, especially 'Thriller' over and over again. I consider him as my guru," one of the Bollywood best choreographers Farah Khan.Jackson died on Thursday in Los Angeles due to suspected cardiac arrest. He was 50.Farah said that she heard the news on Friday as she landed in Los Angeles to meet Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan who is shooting in LA for Karan Johar's 'My Name Is Khan'."I have just landed here to meet Shah Rukh. I reached in the hotel and got to know about the sad news. It has not sunk in yet. It is still to sink in that he is no more. I still have my college pictures where I am dressed like him, such was my obsession.I have always told my near ones that my ultimate dream would be to choreograph Michael Jackson. I always had this hope that it will happen one day, but with this news my ultimate dream stands shattered," Farah said. She remembers the 'Thriller' hitmaker as "one who revolutionised the way we look at dancing today" also recalled her encounter with the pop superstar in New York at a Bollywood awards night."I am grateful to God that I could meet him once in my lifetime. I clearly remember that meeting at an awards night in New York. I had a won an award at the ceremony and Michael Jackson was also getting an award for his humanitarian works. The organisers knew how crazy I was for him so they did take me to backstage to meet him. I went over to him, touched him, spoke to him and even clicked a picture with him. He asked me my name, my profession. It was a surreal experience. I was shivering throughout the night. I will always cherish that picture," Farah told CNN-IBN."I thought I would retire after I choreograph Michael Jackson," she added. .

Saif chooses Kareena over career

Saif chooses to be with girlfriend Kareena rather than with heroine Deepika for Salman's show, 10 Ka Dum On Wednesday evening, Deepika Padukone, heroine of Saif Ali Khan's home production Love Aaj Kal, made an appearance on Salman Khan's 10 Ka Dum, to promote the film. Saif Ali Khan was to join her but begged off saying he was abroad and therefore unavailable.Buzz up!Later that evening, it came to light that the Chote Nawab was very much in the country. In fact, he was with his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor. Bebo was in Delhi shooting for 3 Idiots. They were seen together in the evening at the five-star hotel they were staying at. The couple was in London last week for the T20 series but Bebo flew back early to report on her set. Says a Source, "Saif was booked to appear on 10 Ka Dum to promote Love Aaj Kal with Deepika but he called up the producers Anita and Siddharth Basu a few days before the event and said he couldn't be there as he'd be out of the country."Saif says, "I was not in town and therefore unable to manage it. 10 Ka Dum is a great show and a good platform to promote a film from. It's my loss." When asked about being in Delhi with girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, he admits, "Yes, I am spending time with Bebo, and I love doing that. But I am a producer too and I wouldn't spend time with her at the cost of promoting my film. That's extremely important too. I have been in Delhi for the promotion of Love Aaj Kal giving interviews and other work. As far as appearing on 10 Ka Dum is concerned, I will decide as a producer what I want to promote and where. If Deepika is seen on that show, then I will be seen on another show."Anita Basu of Synergy says, "It's Saif's prerogative whether he's available or not. He said he wouldn't be able to come with Deepika because he had other work. There was unavailability of dates. We have been trying various permutation-combinations of different celebrities. Some work out and some don't. He didn't back out at the last moment. Initially Saif and Deepika were supposed to come together but it didn't work out for whatever reasons." t.

Akshay, Kareena Kapoor kisses 10 times!

Kareena Kapoor is in a better position to rate Akshay Kumar when he puckers up.There are reports that the film Kambakkht Ishq has as many as ten lip locks between Kareena and Akshay. The pair will steam up the screen as they kiss repeatedly in the film. Our source said, “While everyone is aware that there is a kissing scene between Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor, no one knows that they have lip locked as many as ten times. The news has been very hush hush as both the lead actors were of the opinion that it should not be leaked out. However, now that the film is releasing and there are many trial shows going on, people who have seen the film are aware of it. Many people in the trade are also surprised that both the stars agreed to so many. In fact, four among the 10 kisses feature before the pre-climax. The chemistry between Akshay and Kareena is excellent and they both have beautiful bodies and look extremely sexy onscreen”The chemistry between the two will prove if the tonsil boxing translates into a hit. Sajid Nadiadwala, the producer of the film laughed and said, “Why do you want me to tell the whole world if there are so many kisses in the film? Let the audience watch the film and they will know about it.”

Kambakkht Ishq is a Guaranteed paisa-vasool

By Jano
"I grew up in a middle class environment where going to the theatre to watch a movie was a monthly affair. So it had to be a grand film that we wouldn't waste our money on. It's the same case with majority Indian families today. That's why I've made sure I made a universal, paisa-vasool film, " KAMBAKKHT ISHQ director Sabbir Khan makes a valid point.Everyone's hoping (and praying) that KAMBAKKHT ISHQ does the trick. How did Sabbir bag this prestigious project? "The sole person responsible for pushing me to this stage is Sajid Nadiadwala.I'm here because of his persistent confidence in me, " Sabbir reveals, adding in the same breath that Sajid noticed the spark in him after he assisted David Dhawan in MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI.Casting the Hollywood bigwigs must've been tough."It all started when I made a joke and Sajidbhai ended up taking it seriously. He managed to convince the actors and made it possible, " Sabbir says, adding in the same breath, "Working with them (the Hollywood stars) is something I'll never forget.I'd like to recall a particular incident, while shooting with Stallone. We were shooting at Kodak Theatre and had a crowd of approx. 6, 000 people that day. There was so much noise then, but the moment Stallone walked on stage, there was pin-drop silence. Such is the charisma of that man."What is Sabbir's next move? His next movie? "Right now, I just want to take a long vacation and may be, write. My next film will be with Sajidbhai again, which is scheduled to go on floors next year, " he reveals. .

Celina Jetily:Whats Wrong In Gay Sex!!!

In her latest blog post Celina addresses detractors who feel threatened by gay rights with a meticulously reasoned defence. She quips: 'Nobody wants you to change your sexual preference'.Here are some of the excerpts from her post:Of recent a group called YUVA has challenged my movement and sent a letter to the police / various politicians and, can you believe it, to the Pope as well (from what I’ve heard) to take action against me. I have only one thing to say to them...I am a motivator and an activist; I am here to do things with love and peace. India is the world’s largest democracy and just like they are expressing their views, other people also have the right to express their views and practice their basic fundamental rights. In case they forgot, the list is mentioned / available in any 5th grade civics book. However, let me refresh their memories with a few fundamental rights... especially those that imply to my movement...RIGHT TO CONSTITUTIONAL REMEDY Right to constitutional remedies empowers the citizens to move a court of law in case of any denial of the fundamental rights.Once again, thanks to many supporters (especially iTimes), my best friend Indu (who people think is my mystery man), all my fans — especially 12-year-old Astangla who wrote to me by postcard from Kohima to tell me she understands me... thank-you all for making this possible.I took out time to research points which bother the non-supporters and here they are: I welcome more feedback from people who have constructive points to offer...So let’s begin with what exactly is Section 377....Section 377 of Indian Penal Code basically bans gay sex and has to be amended/overturned as this law has been used to systematically persecute, blackmail arrest and terrorize sexual minorities. The legislation was introduced by British colonial authorities and does not reflect on Hindu cultural values. Section 377 was drafted as early as 1860 and it reads as follows: “Whoever voluntarily has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.”The irony about this law is it is a British colonial relic... and while the Brits have changed their homosexuality related legislation, we in India are still clinging on to it for our lives.Being gay is not a western / new concept. Homosexuality has existed since the homo erectus became homo sapien. In fact, according to zoologists, homosexual behaviour is seen in over 1, 500 species of animals. Many societies, including classical Greece and Rome, ancient China and pre-colonial America had accepted homosexuality as a part of every day life.In ancient Greece, sex between men was not uncommon and was considered a natural part of the socialisation process. The term “army of lovers” also comes from this period. Each man in the army had a male partner who fought beside him in battle. The idea being that an army of lovers would fight to protect each other more fiercely than a regular army. While in some tribes in Papua New Guinea when a woman is pregnant her husband will have sex with other men.Furthermore in certain African tribes homosexual men are honoured so highly they are given the right to perform religious acts normally reserved for priestesses. If we look at the origins of the European Judeo-Christian culture we can see that homosexuality has been attacked to a greater or lesser extent from about the 17th century BC. At this time the Jews were returning from exile in Babylon.Until then, homosexuality had been associated with the rituals of many religions. The Jews were afraid that their culture would be absorbed into the surrounding peoples and thus developed a series of laws that separated them from their neighbours. These laws became the Book of Leviticus in the Old Testament. One of the practices that was changed to create a sense of national identity was that homosexuality was banned. So far this is what ‘I’ know historically about homosexuality...more to come soon from my further research. If two adults out of consent want to live their lives together then why should a third party get offended? In what way does a gay union disrupt our regular lives? At least people are getting together for love and not for war and for using religion to harm innocent people. The first country to allow same-sex couples to enter into legally recognized marriage was the Netherlands, effective in 2001.Since then, six other countries and seven US states have followed suit, though voters in California revoked it. Additionally, Israel, the US state of New York and Washington DC recognize legal same-sex marriages from other jurisdictions but do not perform their own.To think of same sex marriage is of utmost importance because as a human right every one has the right to “have a family” and if two people are capable of creating a loving environment, why not..

Kareena Kapoor gets breathless for the 3 Idiots

If you saw Kareena Kapoor getting breathless during her Ladakh schedule which ended on Monday this week, it wasn’t because of her excitement level. It was something far more immediate..and scary. The unit of Raj Kumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots shot at the Pangong Lake in Ladakh which is 13, 900 feet above sea level. Often tourists who go up there are known to complain of breathlessness due to the lack of oxygen. And so it was for Kareena, Aamir Khan, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi who scaled new heights of derringdo without any casualty, though many people are known to collapse for lack of oxygen at the place where Kareena, the only female member of the cast, shot.Says Kareena, “We had little oxygen, no electricity and no hot water. On top of that I was in a wedding ghagra-choli outfit in that freezing cold, can you imagine! The wind almost swept me off my feet.”To protect herself from the freezing cold Kareena wore thermal heating along with her outfit. “But that was of very little help. Finally the unbearable cold was all worth it for a wonderful film. The boys (Kareena means Aamir and Madhavan) were great fun.And Raju Hirani is a gem.”And now from freezing cold Kareena has suddenly gone into the simmering heat of monsoon-less Delhi. The sharp contrast in the weather has taken its toll on Kareena’s health.Compounding her woes is the fact that she is in Delhi in time for her sister Karisma’s birthday on June 25. But Karisma is out of the country.“Can you believe it? My bad luck I guess, ” sighs Kareena. .

John:New York will pick up every popular award

John Abraham, who plays an NRI Muslim in Kabir Khan's second directorial venture "New York", says the film begins where the critically acclaimed Pakistani movie "Khuda Kay Liye" ends."In its own strange way, 'New York' begins where 'Khuda Ke Liye' ended. That's the interesting part of the film, " John told here. Both films deal with the issue of how legal detainees were treated after the gruesome 9/11 attacks in the US.Some sequences in the promos of "New York", which will be released Friday, are reminiscent of scenes in "Khuda Kay Liye"."Each director has his own way of interpreting and researching the plight of legal detainees...that's why Kabir and the 'Khuda Kay Liye' director have different interpretations of it in their films, " John said."But if the legal detainees were put up in a particular way and interrogated in a certain way in reality - then that can't change. So there are certain things that are bound to look similar in both the films. But obviously stories, people and characters are completely different in 'New York', " he added.John was here Monday along with co-stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Katrina Kaif and the director for the promotion of "New York", which is about post-9/11 prejudices in the US.Set in New York, the film's narrative is spread over nine years and revolves around three young friends whose lives take an unexpected turn after the terrorist attacks.John, who has teamed up with Khan for the second time after "Kabul Express", predicts that "New York" will pick up "every popular award in the book"."When we were shooting in Afghanistan for 'Kabul Express' and bullets were flying off our heads, I had told Kabir that you would get a National Award for this film. And he did get one (for best debut director). After watching 'New York', which is a very commercial film, I told Kabir that he will walk away with every popular award that exists, " said John. After having spent over half a decade in the film industry, the 36-year-old supermodel-turned-actor, who was seen in a completely different avatar in Oscar nominated "Water", says he is yet to achieve what he had set out for through his work.John's source of inspiration is late Hollywood actor Heath Ledger who got a posthumous Oscar for playing the Joker in "The Dark Knight"."When Heath Ledger's parents came up to collect the Oscar award on his behalf after his death, they said that Heath would be really happy because there was always this silent determination to be accepted by all of you as a fraternity."For me, there is a silent determination to be accepted by everyone in the audience as a complete person and also a complete actor. I believe with the kind of roles and films that I have done, I have probably reached 70-80 percent of what I had to. But the rest of crucial 30 percent is very important."Now John hopes to do something "radically different that it affects and alters people's mind positively".After "New York", which is produced by Yash Raj Films, John will be seen in David Dhawan's comic affair "Hook Ya Crook", Nagesh Kukunoor's "Aashayein" and Abbas Tyrewala's "1-800-Love". .

Aishwarya Rai deserved the award but she was ignored

A lot has been said and written about Ashutosh Gowariker’s outburst against Priyanka Chopra’s best actress award at the IIFA in Macau. While most sections of the industry have come forward to deride Ashu for what they see as his childish and impulsive outburst, the one aspect of his criticism against the IIFA jury awarding Priyanka and not Aishwarya Rai Bachchan the award that has raised the most eyebrows is his mention of Mrs Bachchan on stage to endorse and substantiate his public objection to Priyanka’s trophy.A young actor who was a prominent part of the IIFA says, “Jo bolna tha bola. Why drag poor Jayaji into it?”Surprisingly the ever-forthright first-lady of the industry not only stands up for Gowariker but also gives him a clean chit for mentioning her in his pro-Aishwarya speech.Reluctant to speak on the matter Jaya when persuaded finally opens up. “First of all it is being presumed that Ashutosh unnecessarily mentioned my name regarding Aishwarya’s omission from the awards.he fact is, I suggested he bring up the question on stage at IIFA. We were discussing why Aishwarya has not been given any award for Jodhaa-Akbar and I suggested Ashutosh bring up the matter. So when he mentioned my name he wasn’t doing anything wrong.”Warming up to the subject of Aishwarya’s performance in Jodhaa-Akbar Jaya says, “The entire principal cast and crew of Jodhaa-Akbar have been rightly nominated for the popular awards and have won also.I find it very strange that Aishwarya who lived her part and looked every inch the royal Rajasthani queen in her body language and overall performance was ignored.”The frank and ever-forthright Jaya makes it very clear she has nothing against Priyanka’s performance in Fashion. “For all I know she must be really good in Fashion.I haven’t seen it. But I’ve seen Priyanka’s work in Dostana and liked it. She’s undoubtedly a good actress. I don’t have any objection to her winning the award at IIFA.But I wonder why Aishwarya’s fine performance was ignored. I think she and the Jodhaa-Akbar cinematographer Kiran Deohans richly deserved recognition for their work.” .

Shahrukh Khan gets a 'fatwa'

The controversy surrounding Shahrukh Khan's controversial comments on Prophet Mohammad refuses to die down. Now an Islamic seminary has issued a fatwa (legal ruling) against Bollywood star. The fatwa issued by Mufti Mohammed Shoeb Raza Qadri and Mufti Muti-ur-Rehman of the Darul-uloom-Mazhar-e- Islam who stated that the entire Muslim community was hurt by Shahrukh's comments.Buzz up!Mufti Mohammed called Shahrukh a Kafir (non-believer) and said such person should be thrown out of Islam. He also said that in an Islamic state such remarks would have called for a death penalty against the accused. He also added that Shahrukh's marriage with Gauri was nullified and Shahrukh must not be allowed to be buried in any Muslim graveyard.Bareilly-based Markazi Darul Ifta which is a authority for issuing fatwas however dismissed the fatwas issued by clerics. They stated that since Shahrukh has issued clarification that he was misrepresented in his alleged statements he should not be held guilty. Shahrukh has made the alleged comments in an interview given to the Time n Style Magazine.Last week an NGO by the name of Mumbai Aman Committee had filed complain against Shahrukh for his comments. They had asked the police file a case under section 504 of the IPC (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace). Shahrukh Khan is currently in US shooting for Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan. .

Katrina Kaif visit Ajmer Sharif in Burkha

Today early morning Kartina Kaif was seen in Ajmer. Well the actress is there to seek the blessings of god for her upcoming film “New York” which is releasing this week on 26 June. This time the sultry actress was seen wearing Burkha covering her face too. She was there with the few team members of her flick. Another reason as per the news channel which captured her image was to keep her identity in dark so that the junta is not attracted towards the star. Some times before also Ms. Kaif landed up in trouble for her film, “Nameste London” when she first visited the dargah. The eyebrows were raised for her wearing skirt in that holy place which created lots of hungama. So this time it seems the actress didn’t wanted to be in news for the wrong reasons. Thus she followed the holy norm so that the concern authority of the Ajmer Sharif.Well girl now only time and junta will decide whether your dua is kabool or not. Hope it does.

No Fun for Asin!!!!!!

Poor Asin. The hot-and-happening new star on the block has been diddled out of going on her first major shooting schedule without Papa Joseph Asin That too, abroad. World recession and the swine flu have spoiled Asin’s fun. She was to travel to Japan to shoot for Bharat Bala’s The 19th Step, but now the twin factors have worked against her trip. Instead, Japanese superstar Tadnobu Asano is expected to join Asin in Kerala where the entire film will be shot. It’s not as if Papa Joseph preaches. Or that Asin was dying to be out of his influence so that she could do her own thing. But, yes, the Southie hottie had admitted that she was looking forward to going to Japan for fun and work. She visited China alone earlier for an awards event and, apparently, freaked out over her freedom. “I may seem to be a Papa’s girl but I like my independence,” Asin had said then.Bollywood sources report that the height of freedom for Asin is to have a good time without raising comment. Not even shopping or trying her luck at the casinos is her idea of having a blast. Instead, she enjoys trying out new and different cuisines. That’s the actress’ definition of self-indulgence, for which she really does not need to go abroad. What’s Japan got in terms of food that India doesn’t?

Ash speaks about the number game and her salary

Calling her 'Gorgeous', 'Elegant', 'Beautiful' etc...will be like holding a torch before the blazing sun! We are indeed talking about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who, besides being the Bollywood superstar and eternal Miss World et al, is the current 'power-cover-girl' of Verve magazine. This is one issue which can be rightly called as 'The Collector's Edition' as it features the Top 50 Most Influential Women of 2009.And needless to say that it is none other than Bollywood's dearest darling Aishwarya topping the list. In her interview to the magazine, Ash speaks about the number game, her 'salary', her marriage, Hollywood, her father's recovery, Padma Shri and much more.As the said article states that 'Interviewing Aishwarya is like prying open a floodgate'. We just couldn't argue on that. Way to go, Ash!

Akshay Kumar is a Really Good Kisser and the Sexiest Actor

Former Bond girl Denise Richards has done some passionate scenes with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar in "Kambakkht Ishq" and says he is a good kisser.Richards insists that no man in Bollywood can match his skills, reported contactmusic.com."Akshay was so down to earth and very genuine. He made me feel very comfortable, plus he's a good kisser! I can see why he's India's sexiest actor," said RichardsShe admits she struggled with the language barrier while filming her first Bollywood movie, but got a helping hand from her co-stars and hopes to do another Bollywood film.It doesn't matter if Akshay Kumar has not delivered a single hit this year, he continues to find support and words of praise from his oft repeated co-stars Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, who have not lost confidence in one of their "favourite co-stars".One of the highest paid actors in tinsel town, Akshay gave two big-budget flops this year with "Chandni Chowk To China" and "8X10 Tasveer".Akshay is going to again test the box-office waters with debut director Sabbir Khan's "Kambakkht Ishq" releasing July 3 and his co-star in the movie Kareena says she has not lost confidence in him. "Akshay is one of my favourite co-stars and it's ('Kambakkht Ishq') one of his best till date. He's got all the ingredients to make a super film," Kareena recently told reporters here."Hope audiences give us more love and support and I'm sure Sabbir, me and Akshay have a winner on our hands with 'Kambakkht Ishq'," added Kareena who has done films like "Ajnabee", "Talaash", "Aitraaz", "Bewafaa" and "Tashan" with the actor.Khan echoed the same thoughts and told: "Every actor goes through failures and ups and downs in his or her career... Akshay is a brilliant actor with a perfect comic timing."Katrina who has starred with the actor in movies like "Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye" and back-to-back hits like "Namastey London", "Welcome" and "Singh Is Kinng" is also all praise for the actor."I've learnt so much from Akshay and I learn so much from him about films every time we are on the sets. He knows so much about cinema. His career has really taken a great turn with the time he's spent in the industry," Katrina told.Katrina, who is also appearing with the actor in movies like "Blue" (not opposite each other) and "De Dana Dhan", said: "In fact it was his wife Twinkle who recommended that I should be there opposite him in 'De Dana Dan'. So I was like 'wow, thank you!' but it's always a pleasure to work with him. You get to learn so much from him," she said.Akshay's other projects include "Action Replay", "Komagata Maru", "Housefull" and "Helloo India"..

Did you know Katrina has never been to college?

If one looks at the extended promos of Yash Raj banner’s Kabir Khan directed next, New York, one can make out Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham play college mates. At the press meet of New York at Yash Raj Studios recently, we asked Katrina about her New York experience and her playing a college girl. Here is what Katrina told us, “When I landed on the sets of the film on the first day I felt that I was a misfit here. The success of Singh Is King was still hovering over my head.I had done hardcore commercial ventures and here I was on a film that was entirely different from what I had done before. Gradually working with Kabir, John, Neil and Irrfan became so comfortable that I did not want to leave the sets and go back home.I have never been to college in my life since I started working at the age of 17 I had to pay my rent and take my financial responsibilities. Here I had all the fun that University kids have while studying.I was there on the sets with not much make up and simple clothes. The film really took me by surprise.”

Priyanka-Shahid beat Salman-Katrina to be Hottest Couple of Bollywood

I haven't given name to Ranbir-Priyanka love tale

A couple of days back there was a strong buzz doing the rounds that Siddharth Anand has named his next film as Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai. However, this is far from true as the man at the hot seat, Siddharth, has firmly denied that this to be the title of his Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra starrer."This was never the name of the film. I have no clue from where has this rumour originated. In fact I am yet to lock the final title of the film", says Siddharth who is amused with this piece of news floating around.A Sajid Nadiadwala production, the film is also special for Siddharth since this is for the first time ever that he would be working with a production house outside Yash Raj Films. He has earlier made Salaam Namaste, Ta Ra Rum Pum and Bachna Ae Haseeno, all being successful in their own right, and has now graduated to making films for the outside banner. As he begins working on first of these films, he finds himself without a title for this Sajid Nadiadwala production. The enterprising producer is showing trust in new directors, what with giving opportunities to Sajid Khan (Heyy Babyy, Housefull), Shirish Kunder (Jaan-E-Mann) and now Sabbir Khan (Kambakkht Ishq).Coming back to Siddharth Anand, even though he has branched out of Yash Raj Films (at least for the time being), his stint with Vishal-Shekhar continues. After composing music for each of his three films earlier, the composer duo is working with him again on the Sajid Nadiadwala project.Vishal Dadlani too was zapped when informed about the title of the film. "What rubbish, I have no clue what you are talking about", he says in mock anger, "By no means is Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai the title of the film.We would know if that was the case, right? In fact till yesterday we were having a discussion and desperately trying to lock a title. Some people's imaginations really run hard and the film's title to be finalised as Aaj Phir Jeene... is yet another such instance."Guess this song from Dev Anand-Waheeda Rehman starrer Guide will have to wait for a while before it finally sees a film based on this title! .

Who says Katrina can't speak proper Hindi?

Who says Katrina can’t speak proper Hindi? She’s been practising constantly with friends and in her dubbing, so much so that Katrina has almost lost her voice. The dubbing for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani has taken its toll on her throat. Raj Kumar Santoshi is always known to be very particular about his actors’ lamguage. For Ranbir in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani who has a lot of colloquial Hindi to speak, he has personally been supervising the dubbing. But Ranbir is a very skilled dialogue deliverer. And getting the rustic colloquialism right is a cakewalk for him For Katrina dubbing is the most difficult part of the acting process. After all she was initially dubbed by professional artistes. She finally won the right to speak on screen in her own voice in spite of a thick British accent. And now Katrina Kaif is going through the worst tribulation of her brief career.Dubbing for Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is the most challenging thing Katrina has ever done.“I don’t have any colloquial lines like Ranbir. I play this Catholic Bandra girl who’s very dramatic. She’s funny to others. But not to herself.
So when I cry I have to cry real tears but make sure they come across as funny First of all the lines are not comic in the dubbing theatre. So I’ve to recreate the laughter on the sets in a studio without knowing if I am being funny enough.”For Katrina it’s excruciating. “I don’t know whether I’m getting it right or not. I’m doing the dubbing under supervision. But this is the most difficult film I’ve dubbed for.”Now that she’s almost finished dubbing she plans to go through the entire dubbing in Santoshi’s film and re-do the portions Santoshi isn’t satisfied with.A bigger challenge now awaits Katrina. In Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti she must recreate all the rhetorics that she mouthed on stage in front of thousands of spectators. as a female politician.“The speeches I made have been taped. Now I have to listen to them, get the accent tone and voice quality right and dub in a studio.”Easier done than said. .

Katrina Kaif :Salman-Claudia Ciesla relationship doesn't worry

Katrina Kaif is considered the luckiest Bollywood actress and therefore we were left wondering why so many controversies were erupting related to her private life in past few weeks. There was a buzz about Katrina and John's off-screen relationships. It was also said that Neil Nitin called her a sweetheart. Then there had been talks of her Salman Khan - Claudia Ciesla relationship as well.Ask her if it causes a rift in the bonding of her off screen relationships with her co-stars and Katrina says, “I just shrug them off. These are Chinese whispers, which started four months later after shooting. We are all grown up we are not kids anymore. We have to conduct ourselves with respectability now. I do not react to it at all. Every time I read something I smile and try to take something good and bad out of it.”
