The ill-health of director Mani Ratnam has changed the plan of Ash-Abhi to skip celebration and shoot for ‘Raavan’ during their second marriage anniversary. Mani who was advised to take rest by doctors may take a short break from his work and may not work on the day of their anniversary. Ash-Abhi who failed to celebrate anniversary last year may head for Europe or the US on April 20.Ratnam was admitted to Chennai’s Apollo Hospital due to breathing difficulty and chest pain. Anushka Sharma loses golden chance due to YRF contract

And now Arundhati is all set to be remade into Hindi.Many producers including Ghajini’s Madhu Mantena were vying for the Hindi remake rights.But the producer of the Telugu producer M. Shyam Prasad Reddy has decided to remake the film in Hindi.Sonu Sood who played the main antagonist in the Telugu film and is all set to encore the same part in Hindi, confirms these developments.Confirming these developments Sood says, “I’m excited because we all worked very hard on making the Telugu original something special. Lots of producers wanted to remake it in Hindi. But now the original producer has decided to go for it.The Hindi Arundhati will be far more expensive and polished. We start shooting in June. ”Sood has already started preparing for the part. “The Hindi version will have to be severely revised.”The remakes expert Priyadarshan was approached to direct Arundhati in Hindi. Apparently Priyan has no time at such short notice.“And the original director Kodi Ramkrishna can’t understand Hindi. Kambakkht Ishq is a Kamal Haasan remake

Akshay Kumar’s next release, Kambakkht Ishq is the remake of a Tamil film starring Kamal Haasan titled, Pammal K. Sambandam (2002). The Tamil film was a big hit down South.In that film, Kamal Haasan had played the title role and it also starred Simran, Abbas and Sneha. Their roles have been substituted with Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani and Sneha respectively.It was directed by Mouli. In the Tamil original, Kamal enacted the role of a film stuntman while Simran was a doctor in the making. In the Hindi version, Akshay Kumar is a renowned stunt artiste while Kareena Kapoor plays a super model.Pammal K. Sambandam was to have been remade in Hindi by Anees Bazmee for South producer GV Films which had acquired the remaking rights for Rs. 5 lakh.However, Sajid paid Rs. 75 lakh for the same remaking rights. Reportedly, Sajid Nadiadwala has spared neither efforts nor money in remaking the South hit.Although it is directed by a new name (Saabir Khan), it is said to have cost over Rs. 60 crore. Incidentally, the film’s release has been postponed, thanks to the face-off between multiplexes and producers/distributors. Instead of 29th May, it may now come in August or July. .

Shah Rukh expects Knight Riders to have more drive in IPL

CAPE TOWN: Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan is confident increased availability of international players will make the team more competitive in the second edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).The franchise finished sixth in the inaugural IPL when they struggled to build momentum with various departures and arrivals of non-Indian players, whose participation was cut short by international commitments.But while Australia captain Ricky Ponting has ruled himself out of this season's glitz-and-glamour Twenty20 spectacular to rest, Khan believes the presence of other foreign stars will boost the Knight Riders."Internationally, I think the players will be more available, so we have the whole team to begin with," he told a media conference at a five-star hotel soon after arriving in this south-west city."We'll have Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum, and then David Hussey will join us when Gayle has to leave. Katrina Kaif missed her Delhi trip for her ill-health !

Expected at an event, Katrina had to cancel her plans at the eleventh hour due to ill health. On phone from Bangkok, Kat explained, “I haven’t been keeping well for many days. I had to be in Delhi but had to cancel that plan because of the same. I have been on heavy medication.” And with Kat’s packed diary, the pretty actress needs to take care of her health.“I just got back from Egypt. We were shooting Siingh Is King there. Back from there, I got busy with rehearsals for my performance at the awards ceremony in Bangkok. I’ve been keeping really busy!” she said. I am shocked at the kind of stories a section of the film media cooks up to attract eyeballs, at times. Everyone knows that Aamir and Shah Rukh lent their complete and absolute support to the producers/distributors on the multiplex issue. But a section of the media has been discussing: [i] Who delivered a 'better speech', [ii] Who 'looked better', while a few others decided to call it a ‘publicity stunt' [!!!]. It's disgusting!Aamir and SRK have never stooped so low ever, even when they needed hits to cement their status as superstars. One can vouch for Aamir, SRK, even Hrithik, Saif and Shahid; they'd never pull a stunt to stay in limelight or plug their new release. Having reached the end of dubbing process for ‘Milenge Milenge’, ex-lovers Shahid and Kareena are still hesitant about seeing themselves go lovey-dovey onscreen.The flick was launched in 2006 when Kareena and Shahid were much in love. However, when they split, they left behind a lot of unresolved issues. Now, being onscreen couple is one such situation that is making both the stars antsy.Though the film made brisk progress in the intervening period, Bebo and Shahid are trying their best to stall the release.Directed by Satish Kauhik and produced by Boney Kapoor, the film is on the last stage of completion with the lead stars dubbing for it.Boney is optimistic and is taking things head on. He said, “With the film industry face-off with the multiplexes on, the situation is fluid. However, I will release three films, including ‘Milenge Milenge’, between June and December.’’Boney rubbished the delay reports vehemently, saying, “She has almost completed her dubbing and he, too, has dubbed some portions and will finish his work shortly.”Kareena’s secretary Zahid (incidentally, Shahid’s ex-secretary) confirmed Boney’s statement, saying, “She is working on the promotion of ‘Kambakht Ishq’ and is scheduled to fly overseas for Karan Johar’s ‘Jehaad’,’’ he added.Interestingly, Kareena does not hide her curiosity about her ex-lover. Priyanka Chopra Has Hospitalized

An overworked Priyanka finally bore the brunt of her thin figure as she was admitted to the hospital due to extreme exhaushtion.Her representative revealed, “She has been admitted to the hospital due to extreme exhaustion and an acute stomach infection. Though her condition is stable now, she has been kept under observation.“Priyanka has been working round the clock for a long time now. Week before last, she even fainted on the sets of What’s Your Rashee. Though director Ashutosh Gowariker announced pack up, Priyanka insisted on completing her shots. To add to it, the next day, despite her ill health. Priyanka performed at the Miss India pageant and soon after she returned to shoot for Ashutosh’s film. Finally on Saturday, she complained of stomach ache and had absolutely no strength to shoot. She was immediately taken to the hospital for a check up where she was admitted.”Priyanka’s father,Dr. Ashok Chopra, said, “She had fever and had been unwell for some time. We advised her to take a battery of tests and so she has been kept under observation. Though all her test reports are normal, she has been advised to take rest and to slow down her work schedule. We are leaving for a long family vacation, but Priyanka first wants to complete Ashutosh Gowariker’s film (first week of May). She’ll probably be discharged from the hospital today.”
