Shah Rukh and Abhishek - Kal Kissney Dekha
Director Vivek 'Banku' Sharma is very busy these days. It is said that busy people are happy people. But he isn't just happy. He is over overjoyed and overworked and is loving every bit of it to the T. The director is shuffling up and down to the Film City where he has put up a giant guitar shaped set with the two talked about debutants, Jacky Bhagnani, son of Vashu Bhagnani, and Vaishali Desai, grand daughter of the late filmmaker Manmohan Desai, who are shaking their leg to the title track of the film which has a special appearance made by none other than...wait a minute! We cannot disclose that to you because Vivek doesn't want us to. Let's respect that. But what we can reveal are two names, two big names, two of Bollywood's finest stars who are going to make an appearance in Kal Kissney Dekha. That makes it three, isn't it?One of them is a tight lipped secret. Now if we jog our memory to Vivek's debut film Bhoothnath, we know that he roped in the 'King Khan' Shah Rukh for a special appearance. Right? So no prizes for guessing that Shah Rukh is again going to make a cameo appearance in Vivek's Kal Kissney Dekha. The director says, "SRK is making a special appearance in the film and is coming at a very important time in the film's climax. He is a good friend and like a brother to me and for him to agree to be a part of Kal Kissney Dekha is like a blessing".Two over. Now guess who the third one is. Amitabh Bachchan had a full length role in Bhoothnath and if you think that he has agreed to do a cameo, you've got it wrong. This time the Big B has made way for Small B. Yes, Abhishek Bachchan is the third actor doing a brief appearance in the film.Says Vivek, "Abhishek Bachchan is a part of one of the romantic songs which is going to be shot in New Zealand in the first week of January". What's more?Vivek is also keeping a special Valentine's treat for the fans, come February 14, which will be the launch day of Kal Kissney Dekha's music. He said, "We are working on a theme right now. It reads - Say I Love You because Kal Kissney Dekha".Now that's nothing short of being creative Mr. Sharma! Looks like Vivek is already in love...we mean, in love with his film to such an extent that he is roping in all his celeb friends in what's going to be one of 2009's biggest launch film for the two new debutants. .
Don't worry, my Saif is all right: Kareena
Saif Ali Khan was back in hospital for the third time in less than three years. The first time it happened in Kuala Lumpur in March 2006 when Saif had to undergo an emergency appendectomy. The second and far more serious health scare occurred in February 2007 when Saif was rushed to Leelavati hospital in Mumbai for a suspected heart attack.
All was well after that, with Saif leading a healthy and balanced professional and personal life.On Thursday he was back in the hospital for a suspected food poisoning.Said his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, "He is all right. He got a stomach infection due to some thing he ate that didn't suit him. He'll be discharged from hospital in 2-3 days."Adds Saif's mom Sharmila Tagore, "He ate bhelpuri that caused a problem. He's in some discomfort. Otherwise he's okay."Incidentally Saif and Kareena were supposed to leave for their week-long New Year vacation after Christmas. At the moment it stands postponed.

Saif:I'm fine and going on holiday with Kareena
Saif Ali Khan gave all his family and friends a scare when he was hospitalized on New Years' eve.But on 26 December he was well on the way to recovery.Speaking from his hospital bed at Leelavati hospital Saif said, "I'm almost recovered now. I'm going home today (27 Jan). It was nothing, really.I returned from Philadelphia from the shooting of Rensil d'Silva's film on 23rd night. And since I was missing all the Mumbai ka khana, I gorged indiscriminately on local junk food, sev puri bhelpuri, paani puri….puri ki puri fauj went into my stomach."
The Chote Nawab jokes from his hospital bed. So wasn't he frightened when his stomach started acting up on him?"Not at all. It was gastroenteritis. Yes, I've been in hospital twice in the recent past. Once it was just an appendicitis. And the other time it was far more serious. After going through what I did the last time I'm hardly going to get scared by a little stomach infection."Chuckles Saif, "Actually it's much less scary than it looks. I've got a drip coming out of my hand, so that makes it look kind of serious. But it's nothing. I'm fine. Just a little sleepy. In fact Kareena and I are going on our holiday to the mountains as planned." .

Abhishek:Ash is very Hapy With My Gay Act
Abhishek is happy to be a gay icon. "I 'm very happy with that. Why should I be surprised or shocked? I think homosexuals are as human as anyone else. It's a matter of great pride if I'm their icon."Abhishek describes his pairing with John as the jodi of the moment. "Other screen couples can go eat their hearts out."Abhishek's effeminate gestures in Dostana have raised eyebrows. And there's talk that his father hasn't really liked Junior's character or performance.Abhishek is aghast. "Why should he take offence? Not at all! The film is not about homosexuality. Dostana isn't Brokeback Mountain. It was just a comedy. My whole family has thoroughly enjoyed it. Who doesn't enjoy a good laugh? It's a normal fun film. Aishwarya is very happy it's a big hit….my second big hit of the year after Sarkar Raj."Whom was he copying in Dostana?"Dostana wasn't made in haseen-mazaaq. We had a lot of fun making the film. But we were serious about the making of the film.I worked very hard on the gestures. And mannerisms. We in this country tend to take comedies very frivolously. Good locales, good songs….and that's it. In Dostana I had to work very hard to portray a straight man acting gay. It could easily have gone over-board.I wanted to avoid making the character caricatural.Barring one portion (the flashback about how John met Abhishek) we kept it controlled."This was the toughest character for Abhishek to play. "It's unfortunate these kinds of films aren't taken seriously. It wasn't a character I could sleepwalk through. People think we partied hard while shooting Dostana in Miami. Wrong. We worked from early morning till night worked out and crashed out."Abhishek says he isn't surprised by the success of Dostana. "I knew it was workable when I heard the script. I was convinced it'd be a very entertaining way. We knew the audiences would laugh with us, that they wanted something entertaining to get their minds off a hard day's work."Abhiskek admits the disappointment of Drona has been wiped away by the success of Dostana."It's always wonderful to be a part of a hit. Dostana was the name of Karan Johar's Dharma Productions' first film and it starred my dad. When Karan and I put our heads together we spontaneously decided Dostana was the best title for our film."
Far from the madding appreciation Abhishek is enjoying the hit. " It gives you back your selfconfidence. I worked very hard on Drona.I felt hugely disappointed when it didn't do well. Drona will always remain close to my heart."Abhishek next moves to Munnar with Mani. "Munnar is where Pa shot Nishabd with Ramu."Reacting to media reports that he wore a cap in Mumbai to hide the special look for Mani's look, Abhishek laughs, "I know Mani is secretive about his characters' look. But there's only so much one can do. An actor has many commitments to fulfil besides the film on hand. I'm sure Mani understands that. No, I wore a cap for no particular reason." .

Its Wrong timing for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi?
By Bollywood Hot Gossips Team
It is rather ironical that Yash Raj Films' much-talked about forthcoming release "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi", which is expected to bring cheer to the production banner and wrap up the year on a happy note, is being released in a not very happy time.Starring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan along with newcomer Anushka Sharma, the romantic drama is releasing Dec 12.The people in Mumbai, in particular, are still haunted by the wounds inflicted on the nation's movie and financial capital by terrorists 10 days ago. But the production house is hopeful that by the time the movie hits the screen, normalcy will return to Mumbai and the mood of the people, not only in Mumbai, but elsewhere in the country, too, will undergo a change."At least, we are expecting that to happen, though nobody can predict what will happen tomorrow," a spokesman of Yash Raj Films told Thursday. In Mumbai, the people have begun to come to the cinema halls. But there are palpable signs of suspense around most of the cinema premises and most cinegoers are still caught in fear and uncertainty. This accounts for the sparse clientele of family audience, particularly the females who, otherwise, throng the multiplexes in the city."Following Mumbai police's order, we have stepped up the security check at our properties. Though this may have inconvenienced our patrons, we must say that it is for their own safety that we have had to do so," said Yogesh Mehta, manager of Cinemax property at Goregaon, a north-west suburb of Mumbai. The news floating around currently that there might be another terror attack only adds to the city's tense situation, even though the people in general have taken it in their stride and are going about their jobs as usual."After what Mumbai went through 10 days ago, it is understandable if a fear psychosis has gripped the city and there is a little drop in the number of people visiting the theatres of late. The theatre managements can do nothing but to bear with it and hope that the scenario will turn for the better soon," said R.C. Vidhani, president of the Theatre and Multiplex Owners' Association."Whether the scenario turns for the better or not, 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' is important for Yash Raj banner for more than one reason. The stakes are high on the movie primarily because, after last year's 'Chak De! India', Bollywood's most prestigious production house has not had a hit so far," said Vikas Mohan, editor of Bollywood's trade magazine Super Cinema..

Saif Ali Khan:I feel a little scared as a Muslim now !
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are the latest Bollywood stars to criticise the government for failing to tackle terrorism and protect citizens. Both said they were "disgusted" with politicians "who provide no leadership" while arming themselves "with so many security guards".The actors were busy shooting for Renzil D'Silva's untitled project in Philadelphia when the mayhem broke loose in Mumbai Nov 26.“The government has failed us again. The BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) is advertising for votes while the bodies of the dead have not yet been cremated. Mr. (Narendra) Modi had offered Rs. 10 million to the widow of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare."The news has shaken the foundations of our city and destroyed our already shaky belief in our government's ability to protect us,” Saif wrote in a statement circulated to the media and signed by both.Added Kareena, “I am disgusted with the so-called political leaders who provide no leadership and ironically surround themselves with so many security guards while doing little or nothing for the security of the people who have voted them to power."Saif also slammed the terrorists for killing “innocent people” in the name of “god” or “religion”.“As an Indian and a Muslim, I feel like expressing my condemnation and outright disgust at any party killing innocent people in the name of god, Allah or whatever we choose to call him.“I am so worried that the whole religion (Islam) will be judged and condemned. There are strong communal feelings running through all strata's of our society and I find it hard to defend the fact that there seems to be a Muslim hand behind every detonator. I feel a little scared as a Muslim now,” explained the actor. The couple offered commiseration for the families who suffered at the attacks and praised the police and media for their endeavours in tackling the situation.“Saif and I would both like to offer our deepest condolences to all the bereaved families and I want to applaud the media for being pro-active and for being the force that is trying to unite the nation,” wrote Kareena.Saif added, “I would like to thank the NSG (National Security Guard) and the Mumbai police who handled the situation so well with so little on their side in terms of equipment and support." .

Priyank Chopra's dares to bare for boyfriend Harman
Newcomer Harman Baweja is lucky to have a girlfriend like Priyanka Chopra. She supports him in every way possible. She bailed him out and did her best to make his debut movie 'Love Story 2050' work. Alas, that didn't work out and Harman's Hrithik aping too did no good for him.Now like a supportive girl friend Piggy Chops is set to do a sizzling item number in his next flick 'Victory'. And hold your breath, the reports are that she would be wearing nothing but a two piece. She'll be shooting for it early in the New Year.
Harman might not admit it but it seems he's shaken up by the fact that his extra expensive debut film bombed. The buzz is that there are no buyers for the flick.Maybe that's why he's so hopeful that the inclusion of Priyanka might help the film to sell.According to sources, "The film 'Victory' was facing some production hassles and now they are finding it difficult to find buyers, especially since the industry is also reeling under the impact of the recession in the market.Although the film is backed by Adlabs; they are having trouble selling it. That Harman's last film was a non-starter is also a factor. Distributors who had earlier shown interest have now backed out and agree to come back in on the deal if they are offered heavy cuts in the price."The source further adds, "Now one of the producers of the film, Manmohan Shetty, has urged the debutant director of the film, Ajit Pal, to put an item number in the film. This may just improve the prospects of the film on the ticket windows. Harman has requested girl friend Priyanka to do the number and she has agreed." Well, that's what true lovers do. Support each other all the time. Bet Piggy Chops would agree. .

Now Finally Salman Khan has a reason to smile!
And here is the rest of it.Salman Khan has had a very bad 2008. His two big films God Tussi Great Ho and Yuvvraaj flopped miserably at the ticket window whereas; his special appearance starrers Heroes and Hello were just about moderate successes. But finally the handsome actor has got a reason to smile! His Rumi Jaffrey directed God Tussi Great Ho also starring Priyanka Chopra is a big hit in the home video circuit! The film was a poor show at the box office all throughout India when it released on August 15th alongside Yash Raj's Ranbir Kapoor starrer, Bachna Ae Haseeno. It is now learnt that the film has very good DVD/VCD sales across the country since it was released by T-Series last month.Salman's girlfriend Katrina Kaif's Singh Is Kinng however leads on the Home Video market and the film is huge, probably one of the biggest success ever but it was expected from Singh Is Kinng as it was a huge hit and broke may records. The success of God Tussi Great Ho is a different case as it was rejected at the box office but the public is giving it a watch on Home Video.
