Soha Ali Khan is Still a happy girl!

The actress, who celebrated her birthday on October 4, says being the youngest child in the family and a pampered person makes her feel so."I will always be the baby of the house, no matter how old I grow. And I still feel 16, " the girl has been quoted as saying. It seems being young at heart matters since Soha actually looks younger than her age, something which the likes of Katrina and Bipasha (who only claim to be young but look way much older) can't boast of.And she's carved a niche for herself her own way, with critical acclaim for her performance in 'Rang De Basanti', 'Khoya Khoya Chand' and the recent 'Mumbai Meri Jaan'. Since there have been hopes that she'll perform well in her upcoming movies like 'Tera Kya Hoga Johnny' too.She seems to be doing okay in her personal life too since after her breakup with South star Siddharth there are talks about her seeing 'Dhoondte Reh Jaoge' and '99' co-star Kunal Khemu. And that's not all. She's ready to take off to exotic locales in South Africa with her mother Sharmila Tagore for a sabbatical this week which is sort of a belated birthday present for her.Elder sister Saba Ali Khan who she spent her birthday with is a jewellery designer and gifted her a wonderful sari. Her brother Saif was not there on her birthday due to his tight work schedule but promised that he'll gift her whatever she wants. In spite of keeping a low profile, this girl surely has a blessed life which she seems to be enjoying to the fullest! .

The SRK (ShahRukh Khan) to take a long break

After the completion of his forthcoming venture Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Shah Rukh Khan plans to take a long break. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is Aditya Chopra third directorial venture and is slated for a December 12 release. The actor has already postponed the release of his Billoo Barber to next year now.Shah Rukh is presently busy with the preparations for the curtain raiser of his world tour, The Temptations Tour which will be unveiled on 25th October in Dubai. Post that event Shahrukh plans to take a long break and go on a holiday with his family." reveals a source."Shahrukh often takes his family on a holiday. Last year too the King Khan had done the same before Om Shanti Om."It is only after coming back from this break that he intends to reshoot portions of his home production, Billoo Barber. The actor is not happy with his special appearance in the film.Since Ranjnikant's Kuselan which was in Tamil remake of the same version did not do well at the box office the actor wants to take no chances with his film." the source adds.

The New Flim Of Priyanka Chopra "Fashion" is an Adult Flim.(CBFC)

The Most Popular And Award-winning director Madhur Bhandarkar is Very upset that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given his next film "Fashion" an "adults-only" certificate."Given the movie's theme, I certainly never expected that the board would give it a 'U' certificate, but I was sure it would receive a U/A certificate, " Bhandarkar told Tuesday.Bhandarkar, who has co-produced the film with UTV Motion Pictures, describes "Fashion" as his most glamorous film. He roped in Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut, Arjan Bajwa and Mugdha Godse to do lead roles. The board members, who saw the movie Monday in Mumbai, objected to six scenes including Priyanka and Arjan's lovemaking scenes and Priyanka and Kangana's dragging at drugs scenes. The members asked Bhandarkar and his co-producer, Ronnie Screwvala, to delete them from the movie. As the director refused to delete the scenes, the board has given it an 'A' certificate. The members refused to be convinced by Bhandarkar's argument that the scenes being objected to are an integral part of the movie and that yanking those off would mean compromising with the realistic depiction of the movie's subject."Although we had the option of appealing to the Revising Committee of the board against the Examining Committee's decision, we chose not to do so as that would have taken a lot of time. Besides, there was no knowing what would be the decision of the Board's higher committee, " Bhandarkar said."Fashion", which takes a close look at the other side of the fashion world, is due for release Oct 29..

Shah Rukh and Priyanka Chopra 's Item Song

According to sources it was a toss-up between Rani Mukherjee and Priyanka for the third item song with SRK in Billo Barber."But after Rani appeared on Salman Khan's game show Dus Ka Dum and knowing there's no love lost between Salman and Priyanka, the scales tilted automatically towards Priyanka, " says the source. What Shah Rukh Khan wants Shah Rukh Khan gets. This, Priyadarshan realized as soon as he began shooting for Billoo Barber.Says Priyan, "Since Shah Rukh plays a film star in the film I needed him to do some big glamorous song and dance numbers with some top heroines."Priyan decided to stay completely out of the picture."I left the choice to Shah Rukh. I knew all he had to do was pick up the phone and ask any of his leading ladies."One item song with Kareena Kpaoor was shot at the very start of the shooting."At this very moment I'm shooting a second item song with Deepika and Shah Rukh. That's again a very catchy number and Shah Rukh is having a ball shooting it with Deepika, " informs Priyan.Interestingly Priyan was supposed to launch Deepika two years ago in a film called Pirate. "But that didn't work out. She made her debut with Shah Rukh. Now she's working with him again. And I also got a chance to work with her.Don't ask who's the lucky one."Now a third item song has also been finalized for Billoo Barber.Priyan informs the third lucky luscious lady to shake with Shah Rukh would be Priyanka Chopra.Though SRK has done item numbers earlier with Aishwarya Rai in Shakti and in Rakesh Roshan's Krazzy 4, this would be Priyanka's first item number. .

Questions on Saif-Kareena annoy Soha Ali Khan

Bollywood's Hot actress Soha Ali Khan doesn't mind media attention, but asking her questions related to her brother Saif and his girlfriend Kareena definitely rubs her the wrong way."It's very frustrating when people ask me about them, but it doesn't annoy me any more. I very calmly and politely ask the media not to ask about them (Saif and Kareena), " Soha told."Not because I don't want to speak about my brother or Kareena, but because I don't speak for them in case the media is not able to reach them. I don't want to be their spokesperson. Also, these questions are often private and I'm not comfortable with that, " she said.Soha had to face the media glare earlier when her gun licence was cancelled in May. She was also in the news for posing in a sexy, skimpy outfit for lifestyle magazine Maxim. All that is past and Soha is now relaxed, free of controversies and is enjoying every bit of entering a new decade in life. Having turned 30 on Oct 4, Soha says that she still feels like she's 16, though her responsibilities in life have increased."Honestly, in my heart and in my mind, I feel like I am 16, which is probably a bad thing. I need to grow up at some stage, but I am not ready to do it as yet."I have responsibilities now, I manage a house, I'm financially independent and have bought a new house in Mumbai - these are great things. I do feel like an adult in many ways, but when it comes to the real things, I'm very selfish and very much in the youngest child syndrome, " she said. The actress, who made her debut with "Dil Maange More" in 2004, has featured in a variety of films but gained prominence with "Rang De Basanti", "Khoya Khoya Chand" and more recently "Mumbai Meri Jaan".Soha was in the capital to shoot for forthcoming comedy "99" along with actor Kunal Khemu and comedian Cyrus Broacha. The actress has a long line-up of projects, signalling busy times ahead."I am doing a lot of comedies for the first time. There's '99', then there's 'Dil Kabaddi' where I play Irrfan Khan's wife - it's an unusual pairing. There is 'Dhoondhte Rahe Jaoge' with Kunal Khemu and then a Sudhir Mishra film 'Tera Kya Hoga Johnny' - a slightly darker film where I play a small town model.Talking about unusual pairings, Soha will also soon be seen opposite Emraan Hashmi."After '99', I'm doing one romantic film opposite Emraan Hashmi. That's by Vishesh Films and Kunal Deshmukh, who directed 'Jannat', will be making it. I also have an English horror film in hand, " the actress said. .

Secret Of Shilpa Shetty’s figure

When you think about great bodies in Bollywood, the first person that comes into your mind is ‘Shilpa Shetty’. The leggy lass with her awesome figure has vowed many men and women alike, and the reason behind her svelte figure she insists is her mother. She says, “The credit for the glamor and beauty goes to my mother. I often tell my father that I’m a replica of mumma.”So she is doing her bit for her family and that’s why she has made her mother Sunanda and sister Shamita follow a strict diet. She says, “We avoid carbs. We compensate it with loads of proteins and vitamins. Trust me, the results are showing.”Well I guess her Yoga DVD is also helping her in the process.

SRK (Shahrukh Khan) gifts Farah Khan iPhone

King Khan of Bollywood SRK is known to have a generous heart when it comes to his close friends. The Khan with a mighty heart recently gifted close buddy Farah Khan Apple’s iPhone.A source reveals, “Last month, Farah Khan was choreographing a song picturised on Shah Rukh and Deepika Padukone at Filmistan Studios for his home production. SRK and Farah being big techno game freaks became obsessed with the latest iPhone game Lexitron (a word forming game) which cinematographer V Manikandan had on his iPhone. The actor and the director played the game on Manikandan’s phone till the battery died. The next day, Farah was pleasantly surprised when Shah Rukh gifted not just her but also her assistant Feroze the latest iPhones. Farah uses the iPhone for playing games and taking videos and pictures of her triplets — Anya, Diva and Czar. She has been showing the pictures and videos to everyone on the sets on Billoo Barber.”When Farah was asked about SRK’s gesture she said, ”What’s the big deal in such gifts? These things happen between friends all the time.”Yeah well said Farah, specially if you happen to be SRK and Sallu’s friend.

Salman Khan Plays Desi Robin Hood

Salman Khan as Veer is hoping he could give competition to Akbar, Asoka and Mangal Pandey. What more… he is going to be his macho best for the much hyped flick. It is reported that Salman’s role will be that of a merciless thug in the period 1820 to 1930s, during the British Raj.A news daily even quoted a source as saying, “Salman plays the title role of Veer in the film. He’s a Robin Hood of sorts, who robs the British officers and helps the poor. Salman has watched Mel Gibson’s The Patriot and was quite impressed with the gun battle scenes. He wants to do the same with Veer.”I could’nt stop imagining about his first attempt to do a historical film - remember Suryavanshi?

Aishwarya Rai:I Admire Abhishek

Aishwarya Rai who was recently at the inauguration of a Longines store in New Delhi, was more than forthcoming talking about her hubby dearest Abhishek Bachchan. She was her usual chirpy self and could stop gushing about Abhi.Drona might not have got rave reviews but Ash is all praises for Abhi.“I think he’s a wonderful actor. I’ve always admired his approach to his work. You have to admire all the actors (in Drona), I did. Abhishek played Drona realistically. I viewed the film through a child’s eyes. It has to be perceived as a fantasy adventure,” she said.Ash maintains that Abhi is a mature actor who understands cinema well enough to make good career decisions. He understands cinema so well that he is not afraid of taking risks. He stands by his family, friends all the time and because of this I identify a lot with him,” she gushed.“I know him for a very long time now. Together we have grown from actors to colleagues to friends and now we share a very special bond. It is definitely a nice feeling,” she added.Okay Ash… We know you are madly in love with him… but stop being so ‘politically correct’ always…

Some People are Laughing on Shahid-Rani pairing

There's a buzz that Shahid Kapur once cribbed about not getting a chance to work with good actresses since most of them were older than him, were from the previous generation and things like that! Now since he looks younger than his age, most people felt that he looked best only with the likes of Ayesha Takia and Amrita Rao and not even ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor before their sole hit together – 'Jab We Met'.But since he can't be paired with the same girls over and over again, he ended up getting paired with the much older Vidya Balan in 'Kismat Konnection'.Now there were many who made fun of the pairing, some even going to the extent of saying that they looked more like an incestuous mother- son duo!But then Shahid isn't bothered one bit! He's all set to work with another actress older than him in not one but two films. There have been talks about him doing a movie with one of his long time favourites Rani Mukerji in an untitled Yash Raj Film being directed by debutant Anurag Singh. The one which sleazepot Sherlyn Chopra claimed to be 'her movie' with Shahid and got thrashed badly thereafter! The latest is that he'll be working with Rani again in a social drama directed by Priyadarshan. The word is that this one won't be another comedy (what Priyan is mostly known for) but a thriller with twists and turns. Shahid's character will even have shades of grey.Good for Rani, who is fast becoming a fading star in B-Town. Maybe she'll resurrect her career by working with a younger hero!As for Shahid, a few tips from Himesh will help. After all his heroines who are getting younger with each film would suit Shahid better! .

Akshay Kumar Change Big B in Komagata Maru

After saying 'No' to Big B, Oscar nominated director Deepa Mehta has signed Akshay Kumar to play the lead in her next film, Komagata Maru.It was earlier reported in the media that Big B couldn't do the film since it is a Canadian Production and their government expects the actors to have a Canadian citizenship. The film has therefore gone to Akshay Kumar.Komagata Maru is an epic film based on a true story surrounding the voyage of the ship 'Komagata Maru' from India to Vancouver in the early part of the last century with 376 passengers on board seeking a new life in the promise land.It is a film of high level government intrigue, duplicity, racism, spying, military engagements, court battles, sedition, and assassination. It is a journey of one man's courage that challenged the largest empire in the world. Set in the year 1914, the film spans two continents. It bears open the heroism of Gurdit Singh, who dares to have an impossible dream- a life of freedom, equality, and dignity. The film also depicts the martyrdom of Mewa Singh.Akshay Kumar has confirmed he will be playing the lead Gurdit Singh, in this collaboration with Deepa Mehta. Talks are also underway with various actors including Hollywood A-listers making this truly an international project."This is an extremely important opportunity for me to reveal a significant moment in Canadian history and illustrate the steadfast bravery of the Sikh community who sacrificed so much to help create a more tolerant community within my adopted country, " says award winning director, Deepa Mehta.Akshay Kumar says, "I'm not used to working with the Oscar nominated directors so it is a great privilege to work with Deepa Mehta. The subject of this film has moved me, as it is a true representation and a testimony to human struggles for freedom, justice and equality. I want to portray this real life tragedy to the world identifying how injustice was done to innocent people. It is an hour for me to play one of the bravest Sikhs, Gurdit Singh, in this tragic forgotten moment in history. I salute those brave souls who sacrificed their lives for justice and equality today."Komagata Maru is a Canadian production being produced by Hamilton-Mehta Production Inc. in association with Akshay Kumar's home production, Hari Om Entertainment. The film's budget ranges from $ 30-35 million dollars approximate and is currently in pre-production. Minnisha Lamba:Don't read If you can't take the heat .

"If you can't take the heat, then, DO NOT tickle the dragon."Well, that's how this Goddess of Beauty can be rightly described, who has only added glitters to the already glittering cover of the recent issue of Maxim. She is none other than Minissha Lamba, who has, today, deservingly become not just the talk of the town, but also the toast of the town!Had she not become an actress, journalism was the way to go for this chic, who, only recently 'Kidnapped' every cinegoer's dream with her star-tling screen presence in the recent flick Kidnap. Even though the film saw a roller coaster collections at the Box-Office windows, but everyone who saw the film was high on/ with Minissha's dose!Well, for those who are envious about the secret behind this svelte hour glass figure, eat your hearts out, as, on her own admission, Minissha says that it's actually "Imran helped me in my weight loss regime"!And what does this beauty think of as her 'best feature'? Well, the answer to that are her hands! Here comes the real shocker! If one has to ask this lasso out on a date, then, the best way is neither through an Armani, Gucci nor even Louis Vuitton!Instead, Minissha says that "The surefire way to score a date with me is not to show too much interest...I like it when someone keeps me guessing!" Well, so you see, you will have to act 'dis-interested' to get this ''Miss-interested'!This one will surely serve as 'Dummies guide to woo Minissha Lamba'. She confesses that she is not someone who is easy to approach. One will only manage to score those brownie points on intelligence.Standard pickup lines just do not happen in Minissha's life! And even a conversation does not lead to a date, as she does not give her telephone number! Sad...but as they say...such is life. What say, Minissha!.

Celina :There is so much I learnt from Kareena Kapoor

In your film career so far, you've been a part of seven comic capers. What made you sign your eight - Golmaal Returns?I did Golmaal Returns because I loved the prequel Golmaal and somehow I wanted to do a movie which would have the capability to become as big as a No Entry. The role I portray in Golmaal Returns was offered to me only because my director Rohit Shetty was confident that I could play a de-glam girl in the film compared to all other heroines who are present.I play a South Indian woman who is called Mira Nair. She comes from a very strict Brahmin family. I was looking forward for a role like that because I am fed up of doing glamorous roles. There is much more to me than just being a barbie on screen. But in a highly male dominated film, do you think you will be noticed?Yes, Golmaal Returns is a male dominated film but it's also a story. As an actor, I believe that all actors make up a story. Even with one of the character's missing, the story can take a bad turn. So, I always see to it that a particular role suits my image. Here I was going to be seen in a new avatar. Secondly, this is a role which the children are going to love and thirdly I wanted to work with Rohit Shetty. Then it was my first time with Ajay Devgan. It was an amazing experience. It was also my second time with Shreyas Talpade who plays my co-star in Golmaal Returns. Then I worked with Kareena Kapoor for the first time and it is always nice to be working with someone who is your senior and who knows much more about the film industry. After all, she comes from a practically a historical film family. It was a great experience for me overall and there was so much I learnt from it.Did the entire cast and crew miss the presence of Sharman Joshi who was in the prequel Golmaal? With Shreyas Talpade coming in the picture, no body is going to remember Sharman Joshi. Shreyas is a brilliant actor and I don't need to prove that. We all know him for Iqbal, Dor and Om Shanti Om. He is very versatile and he can play any given role with a lot of belief.Did you have to go through any South Indian tuitions or training classes for your role?(laughs) Golmaal Returns cinematographer was fondly called Nutty, short for Natarajan. Me and Shreyas used to go to him and ask him, "Agar Bachao bolna hai to kaise bolna hai?" (laughs). So I was the one who was using the maximum South Indian words. Even though I was a girl born and brought up in Mumbai, you still have a tendency to use your Bengali, South Indian or a Gujarati language at home.Credit should go to Nutty Sir for bearing me throughout Golmaal Returns.
So how is the de-glam Celina attired in the film?Very simple, with kurta's, jeans and jholas and of course, the South Indian saree and the ghaghra - choli which many wear down south. I am also wearing black contact lenses which were ordered for me especially from London.Practically no make up for me except the kaajal. My character took a real turn when I and Shreyas were filming this engagement scene in the hotel where I was wearing the lehenga with gajra and a choti.A typical South Indian look. We had some aunts and uncles too in the scene. But some of the people from the hotel misunderstood us as the South Indian family. It was hilarious. With you being paired opposite Shreyas, are we going to see you with any of the other co-actor in the film?
Yes. For a change, Golmaal Returns is not cliched. I've got many scenes with Ajay Devgan in the film. It was interesting working with him because I've been a big fan of his since I saw Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. He is a very intense actor. He is my favourite romantic hero too.Tell us a bit about the unexplored side of the funny bunch of actors in the film.
Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade are the most fun co-stars I've worked with till date. Three of us get along like a house on fire. We'd start laughing in the morning and after pack up we stop. We keep on sending messages to each other talking nonsense all day long. It is fun.Why would people return to watch Golmaal Returns this time around?Honestly, leave your mind at home, brains at home. Come with an open heart with full entertainment. Laugh a lot and go back home and then again if you feel watching it twice, come back or should I say - Return? You will see the lightest side of the most complex situations that people are put into in Golmaal Returns. It's not slapstick, it's situational. This time around, are we going to see the scene continue from where it was left in Golmaal one where Ajay and Arshad do a spoof on the film Black?(laughs) How did you come to know about this? But yes, the most famous 'Black' scene is there in part two too and I am somewhere there in it.
We started shooting that scene on the same day of the Press conference we had for unveiling the first look of Golmaal Returns. That same day at 11pm, we started and finished it at 7am the next day. In fact, you will see Black and Red too (laughs). Don't worry, Red is just me being silly.Do you think that Golmaal Returns is the apt title for the second part?Yes, because the first part Golmaal was a hit. Everybody knew Golmaal and the title track of the film. So when you're trying to create the same magic for the similar star cast with the same kind of story continuing, I think nothing could be better than adding 'returns' to the first name.Tell us about one of the famous Mithun Chakraborty song you sang and fell down laughing.
(laughs) We were singing 'Zoobie Zoobie Zoobie' from the film Dance Dance. And Shreyas and Tusshar also joined in the act. It's one of our all time favourite songs. We sang the song all the way to Thailand and back. Imagine us three dancing to the song (laughs). Are you aware of the fact that the media counts you as one of the most intelligent actresses around after Lara Dutta?Me and Lara are best of friends. So it's good to know that. I don't know what makes me intelligent. I just speak my mind and if you think that's intelligent then be it.Me and Lara come from a very strong third and fourth generation of military background, and I guess that outspokenness and holding oneself together and some mannerisms play a vital role. But in today's day and age, you want to speak your mind out without being abusive and rude and that's intelligence for me.Why go and watch Golmaal Returns this Diwali?Because if you'd like to spend your money on your entertainment, go and spend it on Golmaal Returns. .

Bipasha Without Jhon uncharacteristically depressed

.Bipasha Basu is uncharacteristically depressed. She couldn't head back home to Kolkata for Durga Puja along with her family."I wanted to go to Kolkata for Durga Puja. It's a family puja started by my grandfather and we've kept up the tradition every year. The whole family makes it a point to be in Kolkata for the family puja. But I can't!"The last time Bipasha attended the family puja it was five years ago. "And it was a disaster. John had accompanied me for the Puja. And the entire focus shifted from the solemnity of the occasion. We were mobbed. It was so embarrassing."But Bipasha would have liked to be in Kolkata this year. " Every year it has become the same. For the last five years I've been trying my level-best to make it home to Kolkata. But it never works out. This year I'm busier than ever.I'm totally drained out with rehearsals meeting and preparations for my Kashmiri's role in Lamhaa which starts very shortly. I'm doing my looks, clothes, not to mention my diction and action classes. It's a hectic exhausting time for me."So no time to go to Kolkata for Puja. "Durga Puja is the best time of the year for every Bengali.I get into a major sulk because here in Mumbai I don't get to be with the family while they're busy with the festivities in Kolkata. Every year my parents and sisters go. I can't. I get very lonely as I depend on my mom for all ritualitic puja. This year my younger sister Vijayeta is giving her exams in Mumbai. So she too had to stay back. So it's the two of us girls at home missing out on all the festivities on Kolkata."To top it all John is away shooting in New York.Sighs Bipasha, "Normally on Asthami John and I go to a pandaal closeby to pray. But this year even he wasn't there."Otherwise Bipasha describes her relationship with God as conversational. "My everyday interaction with God is one-to-one. I don't know any religious mantras though I love to hear my mom when she chants the shlokas and mantras during any puja in my house." .

Preity Zinta:Oh My God! Salman…you look so good!

Cute Preity, with your next film Heroes coming up. Are you nervous or excited?Frankly speaking, I am very excited. I was nervous when I was shooting for the film. It was a very difficult role for me, because it was not in my comfort zone as an actor. This role was something that I have not attempted before. For instance, when someone offers me a role of an NRI, I can play that role with ease because it's in my comfort zone. But my role in Heroes has got a very rural flavor to it.It's a role of a simple girl from a village, who speaks Punjabi and is a woman of the soil. She works on a tractor and makes rotis in a village house. In that sense, it's a very different kind of role. What is the name of your character in the film and can you oblige us by giving a sneak peak into the lives of 'Heroes'?The name of my character is Kuljeet Kaur, who is an Indian by every inch. And as far as the 'sneak peak' into the film is concerned, all I can say is that the film is about the two boys played by Vatsal Seth and Sohail Khan. They belong to the proverbial 'Generation Next' and also someone who have everything that anyone can ever want. They have the money to splurge, they have all the vices, and they have the time, and yes the luxury to waste time too, which is pretty much the current breed of the upper level generation.Heroes is about their journey of meeting people from various backgrounds of life. It is their interaction with people from various backgrounds of life. Moreover, how they get inspired from them. It is then, that these normal people become 'heroes'.The bottom line of the story is that one need not do anything extraordinary to become a hero. You can simply do the ordinary things and become a hero. But what matters the most is the 'way' you do them.As Mariah Carey says in her famous song… 'That a Hero lies in you'. This film is also something that acts as a bridge that connects the modern India with the real India.
How much of your character in Heroes do you identify with?Absolutely…despite the fact that I am extremely urban! But as Shahrukh says, 'Phir bhi dil hai Hinduatani'! I come from an army family (with my father and brother both serving the nation), I am extremely patriotic towards my country.I would request each and every family to at least send one of their children to the army. That way, it would not be states and communities anymore…it will be about INDIA! People in the army give their lives for people they don't even know. The only time when we remember them is when there is a war happening.
At the end of the day, we land up with a 'Oh! How sad' kind of feeling, which is something that I feel will never cease to be the flavor of the season. Heroes is a look into lot of such things, without any kind of theory and lecture-baazi!It's more of a practical presentation which, in other words, can also be termed as the mirror of the society! It's not just me, but the whole nation will instantly identify with Kuljeet Kaur! As an actor, Heroes is a very new space for me and I am simply proud to be a part of it!Rumors also have it that you have not used make up in the entire film. How much of it is true?Yes, I have not used make-up, but only in some portions of the film, whereas in others, I have. But the one film in which I have just not done any make up is my next film Heaven On Earth! To me, Heaven On Earth and Heroes are the two faces of the same coin. How was it working with Salman Khan?Till date, never ever in my career, have I ever looked at my hero while working with him, stopped at the sets and said, "Oh! You look so good!" But, I did that with Salman Khan when he came dressed up as a Sardar. I just looked at him and said, "Oh My God! Salman…you look so good!"
Salman, on his part, simply looked at me so endearingly and asked, "Preity…what are you talking about!" With his beard and turban, he looked like a real Jat Sikh! Trust me; he looks so very awesomely good in the film.As a matter of fact, I happened to go to London where a group of people came up to me and said, "Assi tho zaroor dekhaangey jee Heroes, Salman Khan tho badda sona lagada hain jee." (Dear, we will surely watch Heroes without fail. Salman looks so good in it!).And I was like, 'Hey! What about me?' (Laughs) To which, they replied, "Aap bhi achhe lag rahe ho, par Salman kya lag raha hai…gabru'. (You too are looking good, but Salman looks so macho!).Heroes was previously titled as 'Mera Bhaarat Mahaan'. Without sounding diplomatic or politically correct, can you please tell us as to which name do you prefer more and why?I think both the titles work for me because the idea being both the titles suits the film so very accurately. That reminds me of an incident, which happened to me a few days back when I saw a signboard which said 'Mera Bhaarat Mahaan'.But when I came closer to the board, there were these small letters below it which said 'Banana padega'. (Laughs) If I were to think of Heroes from a different context, I think that Mera Bharat Mahaan sounds like a name with a little bit of cynicism in it, while Heroes sounds more positive. That way, I would stick with Heroes!Vatsal Seth…the literal blue-eyed boy of Bollywood, who started off his Bollywood career with a dud like Tarzan -The Wonder Car is again knocking the doors of tinsel town with Heroes. Do you foresee a bright future for him post Heroes?I am sure that he indeed has a bright future ahead of him. And when he actually starts looking like a man (post his chocolate hero image), he would have gained so much experience in this industry, that its going to be only raining awards for him!India winning at the Oscars is every Indian's dream. So, do you feel that Taare Zameen Par will make every Indian's dream come true?I really hope it wins! It's a great movie. After watching the film, I told Aamir that, 'TZP made me cry. And it wasn't even a love story.' I am already sitting with my fingers and toes crossed with a little prayer of my lips! Can you cite three reasons for the common man to watch Heroes?Firstly, it's a fantastic film. Secondly, I am in it. And lastly, it's going to be worth every minute of it. .

Movie Review:Kidnap

When you carry the baggage of super-successful films like Dhoom and Dhoom 2, the expectations from your subsequent outing is bound to be gargantuan. Unfortunately, Kidnap falls short of expectations. You expect a seven course meal, but you're served mere crumbs.Let's introspect. Where does it falter? The boy versus man concept holds tremendous scope and writer Shibani Bathija could've come up with an enthralling revenge drama. But Kidnap fumbles, stumbles and falls on its face. The cat-n-mouse game is hardly enticing and that is its biggest drawback.Kidnap comes close to Zinda in terms of plotline. There're similarities between the two films. But Kidnap isn't as dark and gruesome as Zinda. Also, Kidnap loses focus after a promising start. The hallmark of any revenge fare is the suspense quotient. In this case, there's a motive behind what Imran does. And money is definitely not the motive here.So far, so good. But the purpose of Kidnapping the billionaire's only daughter as also the chain of events that lead to the culmination is such a put-off. Things keep deteriorating as they reach the finale. The culprit? Obviously, the writer of this lifeless, unexciting and tedious drama. Shibani seems to think that the audience is pea-brained.Silver lining or just dark clouds? Imran Khan's splendid act acts as a soothing balm, but if the pudding is tasteless, no amount of dressing can salvage the situation, right? When Dr. Mallika (Vidya Malvade) asks her daughter Sonia (Minissha Lamba) what she wants for her 18th birthday, Sonia tells her she wants to meet her dad, Vikrant Raina (Sanjay Dutt). The mother and father of this kid have separated, we're explained at the very outset. After a spat between the mother and daughter, Sonia walks off in a huff and doesn't return.Mallika panics when she gets a call from a stranger that he has Kidnapped Sonia. The Kidnapper, Kabir (Imran Khan), has only one demand -- he will negotiate with nobody but Sonia's father, Vikrant.Reluctantly Mallika brings Vikrant back into their lives to save Sonia. But Vikrant chokes at the thought of taking orders from a criminal. But Kabir holds the trump card -- he holds Sonia -- and Vikrant knows he has no option but to toe the line.Kabir tells him they are going to play a game -- just the two of them. Vikrant has to play by the rules set by Kabir and he has to play alone. He has to play to save his daughter. If he even utters the words 'Hello Police', it will be Bye Bye for Sonia!Because his daughter's life is at stake, a reluctant Vikrant agrees to obey Kabir's orders…Never judge a book by its cover. This adage suits Kidnap to the T. One look at its promos and you know what the story is, but the screenplay is so amateurish, even lifeless at times, that you scream, no, no, no, no, no!Gadhvi and Shibani open the cards at the very outset. The sketches at the very beginning as also Minissha's Kidnap within 10 minutes of the start compels you to think that the follow up should be equally exhilarating. But things start going wrong from this part onwards.Imran's clues for Sanju, the first in a train and later at an engagement ceremony, make no sense. Later, Sanju and Vidya Malvade's entry in the jail is bizarre. This part takes you back to the cinema of 1970s and 1980s, when nonsense dominated. Later, when Sanju refuses to take Imran's call, Imran lands up at his house. Which Kidnapper, in his right senses, would ever do that?Even the flashback -- Imran's childhood portions -- are just not impactful. Ditto for the climax. The shootout at the New Year party is ridiculous. Seriously, the writing is pathetic!Sanjay Gadhvi is letdown by a script that easily ranks amongst the worst of 2008. Pritam's music is another sore point. Barring the 'Mit Jaaye' track, the remaining songs are lacklustre. Bobby Singh's camerawork is first-rate.Kidnap belongs to Imran Khan. Watch this youngster take giant strides and you know that he has arrived. He carries the cold look effortlessly. Sanjay Dutt looks disinterested, as if he is about to break into a yawn. Minissha Lamba is miscast. She doesn't look like a 17-year-old in the first place. Also, the generous dose of skin show doesn't gel with someone who's held captive. Vidya Malvade is efficient. Reema Lagoo is a mere prop. Rahul Dev's character looks forced. On the whole, Kidnap fails to grip you and that is its biggest flaw.At the box-office, Kidnap being teen sensation Imran Khan's immediate release after the blockbuster hit JAANE TU… YA JAANE NA would ensure a strong opening weekend, but the poor merits are sure to take a toll once the initial euphoria subsides. Disappointing! .

Salman khan Also stands isolated as SRK-Bachchans cosy up

By Summaiyah Wahab Khan
Shah Rukh Khan's presence at the Drona premiere should surprise no one. Ever since the open squabble with Salman Khan both the Khans have been drawing themselves closer to the Bachchans, trying hard to show their solidarity to the Bachchan family in every way possible."And there was no way Shah Rukh was not going to be invited to the Drona premiere. Whether Salman would've come on knowing of Shah Rukh being invited, is irrelevant. Salman was not invited. He may openly express his fondness for Abhishek. But it's not that easy for anyone to forget his past behaviour with Aishwarya. Also he isn't exactly a chum of Drona's heroine Priyanka Chopra either, " says a source close to the Bachchans. In fact everyone from the gregarious Karan Johar to the ultra-reclusive Sanjay Leela Bhansali to the hardly-ever-seen Sushmita Sen showed up for this, the most crucial release. And why not? The Bachchans personally invited all their guests. Aishwarya just back in town after shooting in Peru and France, rang up her friends from her industry and asked them to come. Sadly her parents couldn't come for this important evening because of her father's frail condition.Nervous and excited, Goldie Behl and his wife Sonali were seen with their little son. "This is his first public appearance. I wouldn't let him miss this for the world, " said Goldie emotionally.Taking a break from her sari-clad glamour Aishwarya stood next to a tuxedo-sporting husband in a chic blue-green gown. "Good to be unpredictable, no?" she laughed and played the hostess to the hilt.Laughed Abhishek, "I thought I was dressed to kill. But my wife beat me to it hollow."While the cast crew and family members associated with the film proceeded to the Mariott for dinner after the premiere, Shah Rukh threw an impromptu Eid party and was heard inviting all his friends at the premiere for a get-together in his home.Fatigued and tired and suffering from a bad cold on the morning after the premiere Priyanka said, "Shah Rukh did ask me to come home after the premiere. But all the Drona team headed for gupshup and dinner. So naturally I was with them."Priyanka came to the premiere with her parents. Harman Baweja arrived separately with his family. But no need to jump to conclusions. They were very much together at the premiere, and beyond.Premiere sidelights: The Big B played the perfect host. He had a word for everyone. He was seen in earnest conversation with author-biographer-filmmaker Nasreen Munni Kabeer.Sooraj Barjatya who was a renowned recluse until recently has finally started coming out to public places. He not only sat to the end of the film but was also seen chatting up with fellow-directors.Priyanka Chopra wore an audaciously short creation by Gavin and carried it off with great élan. When chatting together she and Aishwarya who was in an elegant cascading gown made a study in contrasts.Karan Johar was everywhere. Ram Gopal Varma was nowhere to be seen. .

Akshay Kumar to take on 'Superman'

By Summaiyah Wahab Khan
Sajid Nadiadwala is known to be among the most lavish producers in Bollywood, who doesn't believe in compromising on the quality of his films. For his forthcoming Akshay Kumar- Kareena Kapoor starrer Kambakth Ishq, Sajid has managed to rope in some really big names from Hollywood. While its common knowledge that action superstar Sylvester Stallone and hottie Denise Richards would be seen in Kambakth Ishq, Sajid has gone ahead and even got Brandon Routh to play a role in his film. For the uninitiated, Brandon rose to popularity after he played the role of Superman in the latest 'Superman' film Superman Returns. In fact, Brandon just finished shooting an extensive action sequence for Kambakth Ishq, with none other than Akshay Kumar - the Khiladi of Bollywood.A source present on the sets reveals, "Akshay and Brandon had to perform a stunt scene together. The shot involved them to jump from a height of a tall building... It was the most crucial scene of the film and probably the most dangerous one too."Akshay did not allow Sajid to use a duplicate. Brandon was impressed with Akshay after watching him perform such a dangerous feat and he too insisted on doing the scene himself.Bollywood's own Khiladi and the Superman Returns star even exchanged tips on fitness, action, and martial arts. What's more, even debutante director Sabir Khan received some encouraging words of praise from Brandon Routh. If Kambakth Ishq turns out to be a huge success, we are sure to see many Hollywood stars make an appearance in Hindi films in the days to come..

Katrina Kaif & Salman khan - return after 3 years

It was 3 years ago when Salman Khan resurrected Katrina Kaif's career after a disastrous BOOM. Though Ram Gopal Varma's SARKAR did feature her in a miniscule role and released before MPKK, it was her 'jodi' with Salman which fetched her far more eyeballs and brought her back in the reckoning.Post this on-screen association, there were quite a few makers lined up to sign the two together but they didn't bite the bait. They chose to work with other actors even as they were getting closer in real life. PARTNER followed after a couple of years but the film saw Katrina in love with Govinda instead. Coming Friday would see the two sharing screen space again in HELLO but yet again, it doesn't allow them to be romantically involved. However, all of this would change with Yuvraaj where Salman and Katrina return as a couple. Though Anil Kapoor and Zayeed Khan are also a part of this Subhash Ghai project, Yuvraaj is expected to be a Salman-Katrina show all the way, what with Katrina's market value increasing exponentially over the least 3 years.Says an industry insider, "With the kind of great run that Katrina has been enjoying with 6 successful films in a row, no film maker would want to use her just as a prop; especially not someone like Subhash Ghai who has a keen eye for presenting his ladies on screen. Salman and Katrina are looking great together and teasers so far are just the beginning."Talking about the role of Katrina in the film, a source attached to the film says, "Katrina is one of the three key protagonists in the film and plays a pivotal character. There is much more than just Salman- Katrina chemistry that we are looking at in Yuvraaj. Subhash Ghai has gone all out in making this as a mega project and extracted classy performances from each of his actors."With music by A.R. Rahman and lyrics by Gulzar, Yuvraaj is all set for 21st November release..

Saif Says:Mujhe Maaf Karo

Recently there have been reports in the news that Saif Ali Khan had a tiff with photo journalists in Patiala during the shoot of his home production directed by Imtiaz Ali.According to the report, " Some photo journalists were trying to click photographs of Saif at the railway station where the shooting of his home production was on.Two photo journalists--one belonging to a newspaper and the other to local TV news channel--were trying to take shots of the shooting of the movie when Saif objected to this.It has been alleged that the security staff of Saif allegedly reacted and took away the cameras of the photo journalists. A police complaint has been filed by Saif's production and later by the press persons" Since then the matter has snowballed into a controversy and the actor is deeply disturbed by this.
A source close to the actor reveals on exactly what transpired. " Two photo journalists were trying to click pictures of the film without the production's permission. They were told not to do that as the look of the film is being closely guarded. But because they still continued doing so they were reprimanded. The security staff got into an argument with the photographers and it resulted in a fight. The actor was not even aware of this. The news finally reached him and then the production decided to file a complaint against the two press photographers. But inspite of this Saif is very disturbed about what happened as he shares very cordial relations with the media"Saif Ali Khan sets the record straight in his press statement that the actor has personally issued from Patiala. Says Saif who is still shooting for his home production in Patiala, " Patiala is a lovely place and our shoot has been going really well. The crowd has also been very co- operative. As an individual I was not present at the time of the incident so I don't know the details. But as a producer and on behalf of Illuminati Films, our company, I would like to apologize on behalf of our security for any inconvenience caused to the local press. Shooting can get pretty chaotic and crowded in small towns and some pushing and shoving normally happens in a crowd situation.
It happens all the time. So if anyone has been offended I would like to apologize to them personally and also on behalf of our production."
Commenting on the charges of assault and man handling leveled against him he says, "That is completely completely false and baseless. I was not even around. Anyway like I said before, I would still like to apologise to anyone who was offended." .
